I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 6 years of experience providing individual outpatient therapy services to a variety of populations. I primarily use CBT, ACT, and ERP modalities but take a flexible and personalized approach with each person.

I described myself as a grounded & down to earth person with a history of developing strong relationships and trust.

First session

During the first session, often called the intake session, one can expect questions both about current challenges and reasons for seeking treatment, along with questions that provide supportive details and background information. The intake session is all about learning about each other to ensure that we are a good therapeutic fit! Additionally, the intake session can include assessments, providing resources, and establishing an initial treatment plan.

Strengths

Therapy looks different for each person and therefore I individualize my sessions accordingly. Some may want someone to push back and challenge you or someone to sit quietly and hold space.

Ideal clients

An ideal client is someone who is willing to put in the work! Therapy doesn't end when the session does; therapy skills require practice and I oftentimes provide resources to support practice outside of sessions and homework (yes, most of us likely thought homework was over once we were done with school!). Furthermore, an ideal client is someone willing to be honest in-sessions, even if that takes some time to develop the courage to do so.

Treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is used to encourage behavioral changes using core values as a guide and encouragement.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used to change and challenge negative automatic thoughts; encourages cognitive and behavioral changes. You don't have to believe everything you think!

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is used to explore and apply various skills to support the reduction of negative behaviors related to distress.
