My role is to help people discover the negative mental health barriers that are preventing them from living a more fulfilling life. I work to help people
First session
I will ensure that they know what to expect from therapy. I will ensure that they understand that this is their time and that I am there to support them, They will also leave knowing something about me and why I do what I do. we are in this together
Strengths
I believe that each client has strengths and abilities that have sustained them prior to them entering therapy. My role is help the client discover and build on their strengths. My strength is building HOPE within the client
Ideal clients
My ideal client is any client that seeks help and is willing to put in the work. Many clients do not understand the importance of setting goals and making change. I will walk them through the process of making life changes while addressing barriers and mindsets that may hinder their progress. I will also help clients research and use natural resources if available,
Origin story
From a very early age I decided to become a therapist. My initial interest was school social work. I recognized that education was key to a more stable life. The more I worked in the schools I recognize the need to help students and families identify their mental health challenges and the need to help them overcome them. As an individual therapist I continue to strengthen clients through psychoeducation and providing research based interventions.
Ongoing work together
I will explain to the client that ongoing assessment will help determine how they are progressing.
