You may have experienced therapy before and know what it is like to have a space to talk. My work offers something a little different. I work with women who are often the ones others depend on the mothers, caregivers, professionals, helpers, and women who have learned how to keep things moving even when they are carrying a lot themselves. You do not have to be in crisis to want therapy. You may be grieving, navigating a major life transition, feeling overwhelmed or anxious, questioning what no longer fits, or simply wanting a space where nothing is being asked of you. As a Black woman and therapist, I am especially intentional about creating space for Black women and other women of color to speak freely without having to translate or minimize their experiences. You do not need to arrive with everything figured out. We can begin with where you are.

I hold a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University as of early 2022. I have been serving children, adolescents, adults, and families for the past year and have some previous experience working in a substance abuse facility. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina as approved by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselors (NCBLCMHC). Currently I also hold a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate Level (LCAS-28793) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (Certificate # 1571143). Obtained status of Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern from the state of Florida (License # IMH25227). I am also EMDR Trained working toward certification. Counseling Background: As your counselor, I am here to support you in making meaning, creating comfort, and uncovering resources to help you be your best self. Taking an evidenced-based, client-centered, and existentially-informed approach, I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where we can collaborate and work at your own pace to help you reach your goals. I work with individuals from a variety of backgrounds on issues including depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, grief and loss, career transitions, and other mental health and life concerns. Along with the many benefits of counseling come risks. Since counseling often involves discussing unpleasant or uncomfortable aspects of your life, you may experience feelings such as sadness, guilt, anger, frustration, loneliness, shame, and/or helplessness. Counseling allows you to process your feelings and often leads to better relationships, solutions to specific problems, and relief from feelings of distress. There are no guarantees of what you will experience. In order for you to achieve the most benefit from counseling, you will have to be engaged in your therapy sessions, committed, and do work outside of therapy to meet your personal goals.

Fifteen+ years go, I began my journey as a Marriage and Family Therapist. Since my start in the field, I have worked within substance abuse residential facilities, Drug Court, intensive in-home behavioral services, military families, and private practice with children, adults, and couples. I have provided support across a variety of populations over the years addressing anxiety, depression, and neurodivergent and immigrant and refugee populations. These experiences have shaped my therapeutic lens and the understanding of how larger systems like health, education, and economic status attribute to mental health challenges. The education and training I received aligned with my belief that mental health and wellness challenges are not developed solely through chemical and psychological disruptions, but are also an outcome of the systems and relationships that have shaped us and those we are currently in. From that perspective, my approach to therapy begins in exploring attachment. One's attachment style as developed in their childhood can trace relationship patterns as well as one's worldview identifying keys to distress. The way we seek comfort in distress impact not only our intimate relationships, but our work life and economic choices. Oftentimes, therapeutic progress has neglected how intricately interwoven are the body, soul, and spirit. Intersecting all three in sessions, I endeavor to proactively support individuals in developing their wellness lifestyle in order to be best informed when future barriers and areas of stuck-ness in life occur. I believe in the power of unveiling one's authentic self and harnessing their inherent strengths to achieve personal and professional fulfillment.

Welcome! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 15 years of experience helping others cope with day-to-day stressors and past troubling events. Coping may involve identifying and reframing long-standing negative thoughts and assumptions or identifying our core values and goals, which can make frustrating or uncomfortable situations more manageable or put them into perspective. Seeing ourselves and our thoughts, issues or non-ideal behaviors for what they are can lead to greater self-awareness and the ability to offer ourselves the same compassion and understanding we give others. Our stuff is just that- stuff. Stuff we have accumulated along the road of life. Those things may impact us, but they do not need to control or define us. Learning to see ourselves in this more neutral and accepting way leads to greater self-esteem and decreased self-doubt and negative judgement. This in turn makes change more possible.

I was raised in Memphis, TN and attended college in Nashville, TN where I received a BS degree. I got married while in college. We moved to Raleigh, NC after graduation. We've been married over 40 years. We have eight adopted children. I began working for the USPS once we moved to NC. After working there for 10 years, I realized that I wanted to change careers and fulfill the dream of helping others in a more practical way. I took a break from work and obtained a MA in Counseling. After receiving my LPC license, I worked in various settings within the counseling field. I have worked in Child Protective Services, worked for a couple of mental health clinics, held a private practice, worked in crisis intervention for 10 years in a hospital setting, returned to the clinic setting, and have once again opened a private practice. I believe every person has a unique story, and my goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered. I provide individual and family therapy using a person-centered, collaborative approach that meets you where you are—without judgment and without pressure to be “fixed.” I view therapy as a partnership, and I work alongside clients to support meaningful, sustainable change. My approach focuses on helping clients identify their strengths, increase self-awareness, recognize support systems, and take accountability in ways that promote growth rather than shame. I use an eclectic, evidence-based framework, drawing from Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Family Systems Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-based practices. Interventions are always tailored to each client’s unique needs, goals, and lived experiences. My work is grounded in a few core beliefs: people are doing the best they can with the skills they have, people are capable of change, and people do get better. I also believe that a strong therapeutic relationship creates the safety necessary for healing and growth. To support progress outside of sessions, I may offer practical, collaborative between-session exercises that help clients apply skills in their daily lives. I am a Christian counselor, and my faith informs my values of compassion, dignity, and respect. I work with individuals from all backgrounds, beliefs, and identities, and faith is incorporated into therapy only when requested by the client. In addition to my professional role, I am a wife, lifelong learner, and mother of three, including a son on the autism spectrum. These experiences deepen my empathy and understanding of caregiving, advocacy, and navigating complex systems.

I am a veteran of the helping professions, having served since 1982 in some capacity or another, and I still find excitement in the possibility of helping those who need such assistance. I am currently licensed in two states, both North Carolina and Pennsylvania. I find many people respond to my ability to simply listen and that shows that they do not often feel they have been heard and sometimes this is all that is necessary to start the journey to begin healing. Certainly more is often required, and helping people connect with effective treatments whether provided by myself or not is the best help that can be given.

Hi, I’m Taylor. I’m a therapist who works with adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, and periods of self-discovery. Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of their next steps — and are looking for a space where they can slow down and make sense of what they’re experiencing. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine curiosity about each person’s story. I believe meaningful change begins with feeling heard and understood, so I prioritize creating a supportive environment where clients can explore patterns, build insight, and reconnect with their strengths. I don’t offer quick fixes, but I do offer steady guidance and thoughtful partnership. The impact I hope to have in my clients’ lives is helping them feel more confident, self-aware, and empowered in their choices. Whether that means managing anxiety more effectively, navigating a major transition with greater clarity, or developing a stronger sense of identity, my goal is to support lasting growth that feels authentic and sustainable.

Whatever brings you in—whether it is trauma, grief, dissociation, anxiety, or depression—my hope is to provide a soft place for you to land. You may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or uncomfortable in your own skin, but you are also resilient. You want to heal, but perhaps you have lost hope that true healing is possible. My practice is built on the belief that by increasing our "Window of Realness"—moving beyond just tolerating the world to fully engaging with it—we can discover our most authentic selves. I specialize in helping survivors of extreme life experiences and those navigating major transitions to claim back their power. From our very first interaction, you will feel acknowledged, respected, and empowered as a human being with valid rights and needs.
