New to Grow
I am licensed in North Carolina with over 22 years of professional work experience. I have experience in helping clients with stress and anxiety, motivation, self esteem, and confidence, depression, and coping with life changes. The type of therapy methods I may use with clients are diverse, but I most frequently use Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness/Heartfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy, which can encourage elements of independence, honesty, self-acceptance and add direction to the therapy process.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I emphasize working with who you are and helping you to find your potential to make the changes you want, behaviorally, emotionally, mentally or spiritually. You can expect empathetic understanding, insight and guidance. My therapy style can range anywhere between non-directive and directive in nature, depending on what each client prefers or needs each session.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I draw on a blend of my education, experience and intuition. The process of therapy also includes building a healthy therapeutic relationship of trust between myself and my clients and ultimately helping them to develop or increase trust in themselves and make more fulfilling, confident and effective choices in their lives. My interest is in empowering you to be your truest self in the present so as to maintain inner peace, fulfillment and access your potential and goals.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I have been trained in and practice mindfulness myself. I help you understand the process of using it in general for specific issues when needed and also monitor your progress.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This is a fundamental method I use to address each client uniquely, validating and empathizing and defining needs and solutions more effectively regarding each individual in the moment. It personalizes the therapy process to get the most out of it.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
This method is used to take everything else in the session and transform it into relevant, understood and effective solutions for each person to start experiencing progress.
