I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with 14-plus years of counseling experience related to grief, trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transition related to postpartum depression, new careers, retirement, divorce, disabilities, and the aging process. Experience also includes building and maintaining relationships in a healthy way. I want to walk this journey with you providing empathy, education, and a non-judgmental safe place for you to share your thoughts and feelings. We will move at your pace because we cannot rush grief. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?
I will begin by making sure you are comfortable and feel safe enough to share what is on your mind and heart. In the first session, we will address your reason for seeking therapy – I will also ask questions as we go along to allow you to speak your mind in a calm, friendly, and nonjudgmental setting. We will review your goals and I will assign homework as necessary, to help in achieving your goals.

My strengths as a Counselor are confidentiality, empathy, meeting you where you are in life, and attentive listening – all provided in a nonjudgmental platform. Additionally, embracing those of all cultures, races, and backgrounds is important and exciting to me! Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
This modality is a form of Talk Therapy where you can process through your thoughts, feelings and actions. CBT will help you connect the dots between your thoughts, feelings and actions leading to improved mental health. This modality can help those with depression, anxiety and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
This form of therapy is known for helping with regulating emotions and building healthy relationships. In addition, DBT helps those dealing with overwhelming thoughts and feelings and teaches you to be compassionate toward yourself and others. You will also learn new coping skills and how to take action when appropriate. This form of therapy helps those with depression, anxiety, PTSD, anger management, post-partum depression and substance abuse.
Grief Therapy
This modality of therapy encompasses loss of any kind, i.e., death, loss of relationship or job. Also included is loss of health, leaving us with a disability. The grief journey is individual and unique – your grief journey is your own. There is no cure for grief; however, after 14 years of helping people understand their grief, enhance coping skills and how to adjust to change, this therapist will cherish the opportunity to walk this journey with you.

This form of psychotherapy incorporates Biblical principles and spirituality into the treatment plan. It focuses on healing the mind, body and spirit. By exploring your beliefs, needs, and values, you will gain greater insight into a deeper relationship with God, thereby finding meaning and purpose in life causing more positive mental and emotional well being.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
This form of therapy teaches self-awareness, acceptance and personal growth. This therapist will always use this form of therapy with everyone to create a friendly setting, treating you with respect in a nonjudgmental setting.
