During our first session, we will complete a thorough initial assessment in order to better understand you, the individual. We will begin to unpack the matters that that have brought you to therapy and lay out a roadmap for your individual recovery. Throughout our time together, you will learn and practice a number of strategies to work through the matters that matter to you.

As someone dealing with disordered substance use, I’ve found Christien’s counseling style to be effective as an individual who does a lot of work internally. He allows space for me to talk about what’s on my mind while also steering the conversation back to any current concerns, and lets me bring humor into the more difficult sessions. Additionally, he explains the science behind substances and the addiction cycle. Overall, Christien has been an incredible provider that I would highly recommend.
