Hi, I’m Sheena Burden, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I’m truly glad you’re here. Reaching out for support takes courage, and I honor the step you’re taking. My heart for this work comes from years of walking alongside individuals and families facing overwhelming moments, both in private practice and throughout more than 13 years in hospital care management. Those experiences have taught me that people don’t just need tools — they need compassion, safety, and someone who genuinely cares. In our sessions, you will find a space where you can slow down, breathe, and be fully seen without judgment. I believe healing happens when we feel supported and understood, and my goal is to meet you with warmth, patience, and deep respect for your lived experience. I draw from CBT, ACT, and Solution‑Focused Therapy, but I always tailor the work to your needs and your pace. For clients who desire faith‑based support, I also offer Christian counseling, integrating spiritual encouragement and emotional care in a way that feels comforting, not pressured. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, stress, grief, health challenges, or simply feeling lost, we’ll work together to uncover your strengths, clarify your values, and create gentle, meaningful steps toward the life you want. You won’t have to walk through the hard things alone — I’ll be right there with you, offering steady support and compassionate guidance. If you’re ready to begin, I would be honored to walk this journey with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

our first session is a gentle, conversation‑based introduction where we get to know each other and begin building trust. I’ll invite you to share what brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping for, and any concerns you may have. We’ll explore your history at a pace that feels comfortable, talk through your goals, and begin identifying the areas where you’d like support. My focus is on helping you feel safe, heard, and understood from the very beginning—no pressure, no judgment, just a calm space to start your healing journey.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What truly sets my approach apart is the way I combine the heart of compassion with years of hands‑on clinical experience in both private practice and over a decade of hospital-based care management. These experiences have allowed me to walk alongside people during some of their most challenging seasons—moments filled with uncertainty, fear, and profound vulnerability. Because of this, I’ve developed a deep respect for the human experience and the unique story each person carries. In therapy, I strive to offer a steady, comforting presence where clients feel safe, valued, and genuinely understood. My approach is grounded in evidence‑based practices, but guided by empathy, humility, and a belief that healing grows through connection and compassion. My goal for your experience is for you to leave each encounter feeling seen and supported. I don’t just focus on symptoms. I focus on you—your strengths, your resilience, and the possibility of hope and healing ahead.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adolescents and adults who may be navigating anxiety, stress, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, or emotional overwhelm. Whether you're a teen trying to make sense of big feelings or an adult juggling responsibilities and inner struggles, I provide a safe, steady space to explore what’s going on and find clarity, confidence, and support.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. Together, we’ll identify unhelpful thinking patterns and learned behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. I’ll support you as you learn practical skills to challenge those patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and make changes that support your goals. My approach is collaborative and encouraging, whether you’re an adult navigating life transitions or a teen learning to manage emotions and stress.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Solution-Focused Therapy is a hopeful, forward-looking approach that helps you envision the life you want and take realistic steps toward it. Rather than spending a lot of time in the past, we’ll focus on your strengths, past successes, and the resources you already have. I partner with both adolescents and adults to build solutions that feel achievable, empowering, and tailored to your unique situation.

Christian Counseling

I offer Christian counseling for clients who desire to integrate their faith into the therapeutic process. I view emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being as deeply connected. My goal is to create a safe and respectful space where adults and teens can explore life’s challenges using both clinical insight and biblical truth, supporting growth, healing, and spiritual alignment.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to help you navigate difficult thoughts and emotions without the pressure to “fix” everything at once. ACT recognizes that painful feelings are a natural part of being human not a sign of failure. Together, we’ll practice responding to challenges with more openness and self-compassion while focusing on what truly matters to you. For both adults and adolescents, this values-centered approach helps guide decision-making, build resilience, and support a meaningful, fulfilling life even during overwhelming seasons.
