Welcome — I’m John Dyson, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC), based in the foothills of North Carolina.
I want you to take a moment to acknowledge that you’ve already taken the first step toward bettering your mental health. Let’s be honest — starting therapy can feel empowering, confusing, or even scary — sometimes all at once.
My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space where you can explore concerns related to anxiety, depression, and self-care. I focus on helping clients build assertive communication skills and healthy boundaries, both with themselves and with others, in ways that support a more balanced, fulfilling life.
Therapy is an opportunity for personal growth in whatever way you're seeking — whether that means navigating specific challenges or building the life you deeply deserve. If that’s what you’re looking for, I’m here when you’re ready.
Together, we’ll clarify the challenges you’re facing and identify where you want to be — a month, six months, or a year from now. Then, we’ll explore actionable strategies to help you move forward. You'll leave each session with a clearer understanding of your situation and a set of “next steps” you can begin right away.
There will always be space for feedback and collaboration in our work — including holding each other accountable as we walk this path together.
Hello! My name is Rebecca (Becky) Hegwood, and I'm glad you're here! I am a 2015 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a Masters degree in rehabilitation counseling and have worked in the counseling field for 10 years. I received my Licensed Professional Counselor designation for the state of South Carolina in 2018 and have most recently received my Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor designation in the state of North Carolina. I have worked in a variety of settings since beginning my journey in this field, beginning with community non profit work, and adding experience in state mental health, group, and private practices since then. I have worked with both children and adults in group and individual settings. Outside of work time, I enjoy time at my little country farmhouse with my husband, our dogs, cat, and ducks. Being creative and listening to music are a couple of additional things that make my heart happiest!
I'm truly glad you're here. Taking the step to seek support is a courageous and important decision, and I'm honored to be part of your journey. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and respect, and I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and valued.
Whether you're navigating challenges, seeking personal growth, or just need a space to talk, I'm here to walk alongside you. Together, we can explore your thoughts and feelings, develop strategies to achieve your goals, and work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Bachelor’s Degree from Appalachian State University (2015) and a Master’s Degree from Winthrop University. I’ve trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Trauma-Focused CBT. My approach is personalized to help you achieve your goals and become the best version of yourself. I believe that you have the innate ability to understand your own needs, and I’m here to support and guide you in reaching your personal goals.
I got my MA in Dance/Movement Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2009 and have since worked mostly in community mental health. I'm excited to move more fully into working with women in transitional spaces of life looking for support and validation about their desires and next steps. My work with midlife women navigating perimenopause, family life, jobs and older family members has been the most fulfilling work I've ever done. Caring for the caregivers so that they may find the freedom and creativity in their lives to set boundaries, use their voices and make intentional choices based on what they KNOW that they need is the way to set free a group of women who never intended to imprrison themselves in a life they didn't fully consciously choose.

Hello, I am a licensed professional therapist in North Carolina. My experience has centered on working with diverse populations, from military-affiliated, college, and community behavioral health and private practice. Working within these settings has allowed my involvement with various ages, genders, cultures, and life experiences. My theoretical orientation is Constructivism; therefore, I need to understand my client's life perspectives and how that has influenced their worldview. In working with clients, I also practice an integrated approach using constructivism, person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, solution-focused therapies, and others. Person-centered focuses on the client and allows the client to process feelings and thoughts in a non-judgmental environment with unconditional positive regard. Cognitive-behavioral therapy focuses on the role of thinking in the process of influencing a person's feelings of well-being and how controlling thoughts can affect mental health. This approach maintains the link between emotions and behaviors in the cognitive process. The humanistic therapeutic method emphasizes the counseling relationship and the importance of quality, genuineness, positive regard, and empathy in the counseling relationship. Solution-focused therapy utilizes skills already present to help navigate current concerns, focusing on being present and checking facts on emotions and feelings that might direct reactive responses to stressors. Constructivism proves the space for cultural humility and openness to worldviews I might not have had the privilege to interact with previously.

Hi.
I am a LPC in Georgia and a LCMHC in North Carolina. Additionally, I am a Nationally Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. I received my master's degree from VCU in 2015, became licensed in 2020, and have been practicing on my own ever since. I live by two mottos "It takes a village" and "take time for you". It is important to “take time for yourself,” because we need time to recharge, so that we can continue to persevere. However, there comes a time in everyone’s life where the support of the village is needed. That’s why I believe it "takes a village” and working together as a team is important. Whether it is a clinician and client duo, or a team of medical professionals, we can achieve reasonable and practical goals.

I am especially passionate about supporting ministerial leaders and their spouses as they navigate burnout and the demands of service. Hi, I'm Debbie Howard, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). Reaching out for support takes courage, and I would be honored to walk alongside you! I have 15 years experience helping individuals, families and youth work through challenges such as life transitions, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and parenting. I also specialize in helping children and teens build resilience, confidence, and coping skills that support lasting change at home and school.
My approach is warm, client-centered, and collaborative. I believe therapy should feel empowering, supportive, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. I integrate a variety of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavior Therapy(CBT), Alternative Family CBT, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) , mindfulness, trauma-informed care, and solution focused therapy. Together, we'll focus on building self-awareness, resilience, and lasting positive change in a safe, nonjudgmental space.
I'm a middle-aged human who loves to support others along their journeys to greater states of purpose and well-being and who has turned that instinct to help others into a career. I've got experience with working with senior citizens with dementia, people with chronic illnesses and pain, and I've worked in the prison system as a therapist as well as in a gender-affirming care clinic. If I could choose one word to link my broad range of work roles, it would be: advocate.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, but you don’t have to go through it alone. I’m a warm, down-to-earth therapist who helps children, teens, and adults manage anxiety, depression, relationship struggles, and life transitions with compassion and practical support. In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding your experiences, building on your strengths, and creating lasting change so you can feel more grounded and fulfilled.
Do you feel isolated, alone, and misunderstood as a woman struggling with alcohol, anxiety, or self-worth?
Do you find yourself stuck in the same patterns—overdrinking, people-pleasing, or self-sabotaging—even when you want change?
Is it hard to slow down, be present, or sit with your thoughts—without reaching for distraction or alcohol?
Do you feel as if you are always in “go mode,” even when you’re exhausted?
Are you focused on others’ needs instead of your own?
Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems?
I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding and self-compassion. You already carry the capacity for growth and healing, but sometimes we need support to recognize it. Therapy offers a fresh perspective to help you break free from old patterns, develop new skills, and respond more intentionally to life’s challenges.
My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where curiosity replaces self-criticism, and where your strengths, resilience, and well-being are at the center of the work we do together.
