Welcome to HeartSpace Counseling. My name is Catharine Long, and I have been blessed to work with folks from all walks of life as a board certified licensed clinical social worker for over 30 years. I gear my practice towards after hours support with appointments available Tu-Th in the evenings and on Saturdays. I am currently accepting new clients for virtual sessions and hope to hear from you.
A first session will include intake questions which you answer at your comfort level which help me best know how to serve you. I am relaxed and flexible and work to create a safe space to share in.
The treatment methods I employ vary between supportive counseling, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialetical behavior therapy), narrative therapy integrated with family systems/adult children issues as appropriate.
Struggles in life are inevitable. Good mental health care helps turn down the volume on anxiety, depressive, and trauma symptoms making the overwhelming waters more manageable. My goal is to create an safe, open, supportive environment for you which fosters your healing, growth and resilience. It would be my honor to work with you on your healing journey.
The clients I am best able to serve are those wrestling with life stressors inclusive of grief and trauma as well as anxiety and depressive symptoms.
