Hello! I am Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I got my undergraduate degree at Carson-Newman University in Psychology and my Masters Degree from Capella University. I have been practicing for over 10 years. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults through the lifespan. I enjoy being able to walk alongside people so they can become the best version of themselves, learn how to heal previous trauma, and develop healthy coping skills.
In our first session we will start with a brief introduction and what brings you to therapy. I like to get a general idea of what you are dealing with as well as getting to know you as an individual so that treatment can be tailored to your specific needs.
I feel like my greatest strength as a provider is in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that fosters communication and a sense of belonging and safety. It is my desire to create an environment where the individual feels heard and deeply understood. At 50 years old, I have some really deep and meaningful life experiences under my belt. These real life experiences combined with sound therapeutic interventions have made for a rich set of tools to bring to the table to share with others.
I use an integrative approach because I want the treatment to be tailored and suited to each individual and their specific needs.
I am very comfortable with including ones beliefs and integrating that into counseling should the client choose to want that as part of their treatment plan.
