Hi, I’m Julie. I’m a therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges—including anxiety, depression, trauma, and major transitions. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages in a variety of settings, which has deepened my respect for each person’s unique journey. Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly understood—because healing begins when you feel seen and accepted just as you are.
I am dedicated to helping people heal holistically from past traumas, anxiety, depression, anger or relationship challenges. I use a very effective treatment modality called Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help people heal from traumatic memories, negative beliefs about themselves, or past situations in one's life that have caused them emotional pain. Often , I blend EMDR interventions with "parts work"/Internal Family Systems (IFS) interventions, which is useful when a client has parts of themselves that are fearful of trauma work. In addition, I teach people how to manage their thoughts and emotions using mindfulness, mind/body, meditation practices, and cognitive behavioral methods. For those who are interested in healing their mental health naturally through changing their life style habits, I have training in how proper nutrition, sleep and exercise can help improve one's brain health, and therefore improve their mental health.
Hi, I’m Craig Hales, a compassionate and energetic Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to guiding you through life’s toughest moments with empathy, insight and hope. I blend evidence-based tools like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness with a personalized touch that will help you find real-world and straight forward solutions, resulting in lasting change. My formal education and vast civilian and military experiences have made me able to be diverse, relatable and effective at walking with you through your darkest valleys.
I have several years of experience treating individuals, families, and adolescents using a holistic, empathic, and trauma-informed approach. Watching friends and family struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues fueled my passion for helping those who struggle with these difficulties from a place of understanding, patience, and empathy. I received a BA in psychology first, which led to obtaining a substance abuse certificate. I gained experience working with families and individuals and, after some time, I was ready to further my education and obtained a Master of Social Work. This helped me expand my clinical skills and learn more targeted therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychoanalytical care, and art therapy. I found these approaches are a great synthesis of neuroscience, trauma, and creativity.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker serving clients in North Carolina, Ohio, and Alabama. I earned my Master of Social Work degree through the Joint Program at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and North Carolina A&T State University and have spent the past 15 years working in a variety of mental health settings.
As a biracial and bicultural woman of White and Native American heritage and an enrolled member of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina, I understand the importance of culture, identity, belonging, and lived experience in the healing process.
I specialize in helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, self-esteem challenges, family conflict, grief, loss, and caregiver burnout. I also have extensive experience working with trauma survivors, including individuals recovering from unhealthy relationships, emotional abuse, religious trauma and domestic violence. While I enjoy working with adults from all backgrounds, I am especially passionate about supporting women as they build confidence, strengthen boundaries, heal from past experiences, and reconnect with their sense of self.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I believe therapy should be a space where you can show up as your authentic self without fear of judgment. I strive to create an environment where clients feel safe, heard, respected, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives. Many clients tell me they appreciate my conversational, down-to-earth style. While therapy can involve discussing difficult topics, I also believe healing can include moments of humor, self-discovery, and recognizing your strengths along the way. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, processing trauma, navigating a major life transition, or working to create healthier relationships, you do not have to face it alone.
I am committed to providing affirming care for individuals who identify as BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, bicultural/biracial, neurodivergent, ability-diverse, and those from underrepresented communities.
