I have always felt a deep connection to Human Services since the day my siblings came to me for advice on whatever problems they had. That personal experience fueled my pursuit of a career in counseling and therapy. My credentials include a Master's in Human Services, licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, National Certified Counselor certification, a Bachelor of Metaphysical Science, and Ph.D. candidate with an emphasis on relationship dynamics. For over 40 years, I have been blessed with opportunities to serve as a clinician across diverse settings, including Child Welfare, Criminal Justice, Education, the Corporate Sector, and Military Family Life (all branches). I pride myself in being an instrument that provides a genuine, safe space for clients to embrace who they are while welcoming change, operating with the core belief that “everything starts and ends with the individual". On a personal note, I have been married for the past 42 years to the most "incredible man" who is also my business partner, and I have 4 adult children with 4 grandchildren. **If my availability doesn't match the day or time you need, feel free to message me, and I will do my very best to accommodate you.

*note: Monday 8pm is for biweekly appointments Hello! My name is Rukiya and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Jersey. Professionally I have been working as an outpatient clinician in community mental health for the past five years and working in the field for the past 8 years. I work with adults from different communities who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, stress, identity concerns, and self-esteem. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, grounded in the belief that individuals are the experts of their own experiences. I help clients to reconnect with themselves and their communities at their own pace. Personally, I went into this field wanting to understand myself more and others around me. What came out of it was finding myself, finding community, and finding the language to name things that were happening to me and around me. I believe people are the experts of themselves and I get the honor to hold space and help connect the dots. Outside of Therapy I am a writer and a poet. I am a former peer educator. I'm passionate about creating a space where someone can find the best version of themselves because it was a gift that was given to me. Also, fan of basketball and Women's sports. To learn more about me and my approach I have website innerwebtherapy.com where I also share resources for building support, growth, and community.

As a neurodivergent Black woman living with a chronic illness and mother of three adult children, two of whom identify with the LGBTQ+ commmunity, I am always interested in the deeper question people carry about their lives. Many of the individuals I work with are thoughtful, capable people who have spent years showing up for others, meeting expectations, and doing what seemed like the responsible thing to do. At some point, though, many begin to notice a quiet sense that something no longer fits. My work centers around helping people slow down enough to understand what is actually happening beneath that feeling. Together we look at the patterns, experiences, and internal narratives that shape how you see yourself and the choices available to you. From that place, people often begin to rediscover a clearer sense of who they are and what direction their lives might take moving forward. I am especially drawn to working with adults navigating identity shifts, relationship transitions, and moments in life where the path forward is no longer obvious.

Hello, I am Shana Toney, a Licensed Professional Counselor. Over my lifetime I have always worked in human services. It was gratifying to work with clients in their time of need and support them through the process. Many of the clients would say they felt comfortable talking to me and I listened to their needs. Those years of serving the community led me to become a therapist. Once I became a therapist 8 years ago, I found my passion. I love having the opportunity and freedom to work with clients, helping them figure things out, learn to create change in their lives and coping with situations they have no control over. Change is not easy but possible. My role as a therapist is to walk with clients to help create their change and happiness they desire.

My work centers communities of color, caregivers, helping professionals, and anyone who has spent years being “the strong one” with very few places to land. In our sessions, you don’t have to perform or hold everything together. I use a calm, attuned, body‑based approach that helps you slow down, reconnect with yourself, and release what your nervous system has been holding. Whether you’re navigating trauma, grief, burnout, or identity‑based stress, I offer a space that is culturally responsive, collaborative, and grounded in real healing—not just talking about it. Hi, I’m Tiffany McGilloway, a licensed psychotherapist who takes a holistic, mind–body approach to healing. I believe therapy isn’t just about understanding your thoughts — it’s about reconnecting with yourself in a deeper, more compassionate way. I’ve been working in mental health since 2010 and have experience supporting adults, adolescents, and families in settings such as crisis programs, schools, and intensive outpatient care. Over time, my work has evolved to focus on helping people who feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. My approach blends evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), along with Mindfulness and Somatic practices. I’m also a Registered Yoga Teacher with advanced training in therapeutic yoga, which informs how I help clients understand and regulate their nervous systems. I’m especially passionate about helping people rebuild their relationship with themselves — developing self-trust, self-compassion, and a stronger sense of identity. In our work together, we explore not only what’s happening in your life, but how your mind and body are responding to it. My style is compassionate, grounded, and direct. I aim to create a space where you feel genuinely supported while also developing practical tools for meaningful change.

As the sole owner and clinician of Walls Come Tumbling Down for the last 2 years My Ideal Client My ideal client is a woman of Christian faith who may be experiencing depression, anxiety, stress, relationship challenges, or other life circumstances that have left her feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected from herself. She is ready to grow, heal, and make meaningful changes in her life—mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. My Approach My approach to therapy is warm, compassionate, nonjudgmental, and faith-sensitive. I meet each client where she is and work collaboratively to help her develop practical tools, gain insight, strengthen her emotional well-being, and move toward the life she desires. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian faith and spiritual principles into the therapeutic process while respecting each person’s individual beliefs and journey. I believe that healing is a process, and you do not have to walk through it alone. My goal is to help you recognize your worth, build resilience, strengthen your relationship with yourself and your faith, and create lasting positive change.

Hello My name is Kianna and I have been working in the mental health field for more than 25 years. I attended undergrad at Colgate University where I studied Sociology and Biology. There I developed a passion for Mental Health and a thirst to understand why people do the things we do. I attended the Syracuse University School of Social Work and majored in Mental Health. I have worked with diverse populations of all ages since then and came to find that I enjoy working with people who have come from disadvantaged backgrounds, people of color, women, Autists, and persons living with Anxiety and Trauma of all kinds. Trauma comes in many forms and the abuser can be a member of your family, a stranger and even your society. As a Social Worker of color, I was drawn to becoming a therapist after my own struggle to find a therapist that looks like me. I want to dismantle the stigma that many communities carry about seeking help for mental challenges and show people that everyone can benefit from a better relationship with themselves.

Hello, and welcome. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York with over 20 years of experience helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and improve their emotional well-being. I earned my Master of Social Work from Stony Brook University and have spent my career supporting people through difficult periods while helping them build healthier, more fulfilling lives. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or emotionally drained. You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or a major life transition that feels difficult to manage on your own. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your experiences, gain clarity, and begin moving toward healing and growth. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. I work closely with my clients to help them better understand their thoughts, emotions, and patterns, while developing effective coping strategies that support lasting change. Together, we focus on building resilience, strengthening self-awareness, and creating healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care and creating an environment where every client feels respected, valued, and understood. Taking the first step toward therapy can feel difficult, but you don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. If you’re ready to invest in your mental health and personal growth, I would be honored to support you on your journey.

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
