I have always felt a deep connection to Human Services since the day my siblings came to me for advice on whatever problems they had. That personal experience fueled my pursuit of a career in counseling and therapy. My credentials include a Master's in Human Services, licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, National Certified Counselor certification, a Bachelor of Metaphysical Science, and Ph.D. candidate with an emphasis on relationship dynamics. For over 40 years, I have been blessed with opportunities to serve as a clinician across diverse settings, including Child Welfare, Criminal Justice, Education, the Corporate Sector, and Military Family Life (all branches). I pride myself in being an instrument that provides a genuine, safe space for clients to embrace who they are while welcoming change, operating with the core belief that “everything starts and ends with the individual". On a personal note, I have been married for the past 42 years to the most "incredible man" who is also my business partner, and I have 4 adult children with 4 grandchildren. **If my availability doesn't match the day or time you need, feel free to message me, and I will do my very best to accommodate you.

*note: Monday 8pm is for biweekly appointments Hello! My name is Rukiya and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor based in New Jersey. Professionally I have been working as an outpatient clinician in community mental health for the past five years and working in the field for the past 8 years. I work with adults from different communities who are navigating challenges such as anxiety, stress, identity concerns, and self-esteem. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, grounded in the belief that individuals are the experts of their own experiences. I help clients to reconnect with themselves and their communities at their own pace. Personally, I went into this field wanting to understand myself more and others around me. What came out of it was finding myself, finding community, and finding the language to name things that were happening to me and around me. I believe people are the experts of themselves and I get the honor to hold space and help connect the dots. Outside of Therapy I am a writer and a poet. I am a former peer educator. I'm passionate about creating a space where someone can find the best version of themselves because it was a gift that was given to me. Also, fan of basketball and Women's sports. To learn more about me and my approach I have website innerwebtherapy.com where I also share resources for building support, growth, and community.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I use dogs in my office while doing therapy. Please schedule telehealth or advise in advance if you are not comfortable in an office with animals. They do provide therapeutic support to clients and have been part of my practice for some time. I hold licenses in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Connecticut, Florida and specialty certification as a Certified Advanced Drug & Alcohol Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I am a firm believer in everything that happens creates the person. I am a whole life counselor and work with people to explore what it would take to move past the difficult times in life. I take the time to get to know my clients and have many clients who have been with me for years. That doesn't mean someone will see me every week for the rest of their life. It means client know I am available when they have need. I do have clients who have seen me weekly for years not because they are dependent on me but because they have found benefit in processing their life regularly. I have had a successful personal practice for years and can offer clients the space and reverence to unpack the most unpleasant things to reorder them in a way they no longer can cause harm as they once did. There is no perfect childhood and it is likely families do the best they can and it may not have filled the needs of their child. I am happy to take as much time as needed to work through the problem as you understand it.

If you’ve tried therapy and still feel stuck, the approach may be the problem, not you. Many of my clients have already done “the work,” and talking through their struggles wasn’t enough. They needed a more targeted treatment from the start. If you know your thoughts aren’t rational but can’t stop them, feel trapped by routines you can’t break, are avoiding more of your life to manage anxiety, or have withdrawn and lost motivation, that’s what I treat. I use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), a form of exposure therapy, along with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), behavioral activation, and Habit Reversal Training. These are structured, evidence-based treatments, and every session is practical, so you leave with tools you can use right away. I work with adults dealing with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) in all its forms, including intrusive thoughts, contamination fears, harm and relationship OCD, “Pure O,” and taboo themes that feel shameful or out of character. There’s no thought too disturbing to bring to me. I also treat panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, health anxiety, depression, including depression that hasn’t responded to earlier treatment, skin picking (dermatillomania), hair pulling (trichotillomania), and hoarding disorder. I’m warm and direct. I’ll be honest about what treatment involves, what progress realistically looks like, and whether I’m the right fit. If I’m not, I’ll point you to someone who is. ERP asks you to face things you’ve been avoiding, and I’ll guide you at a pace that works for you. The people who do best with me are done managing symptoms and ready to change them. If that’s where you are, reach out.

I am patient and kind, but I will hold you accountable if necessary. I am here for you. I will do my best to understand what your needs are in order and develop a treatment plan based on that order: emotional, physical, reminders, etc... and how to be ready to move through the week ahead. Hey, my name is Marrium Guirguis and I am here to help you wherever you are in life. I believe we all have a story to tell and regardless of how similar two experiences sound, they will still be very different from each other and deserve to be heard, validated and worked with uniquely. Throughout my career, I have specialized in working with adults and adolescents 14+ with PTSD, Anxiety, working with survivors of human trafficking and domestic violence, family dynamics, supportive therapy through challenges, people with disabilities, and young couples. One thing uniquely about myself is that I am a little person (dwarfism). I navigate the world at 3’6” tall and had to overcome a lot and have learned tremendously from my experiences. If you resonate with that and feel there could be a lot to unpack and work through, I can help you. I have had great success in incorporating one's culture, faith, values and morals due to it being integral in understanding who they are. My Christian faith has influenced my desire to help people, but I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds in a faith-based or secular style, based on your preference. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has dedicated my professional life to the advancement of the human species. What do I mean by the advancement of the human species? Well, no one ever taught us how to be mindful of thought patterns; to be aware of our own scars and biases, no one gave us an instruction book when it comes to dealing with our emotional life and the emotional lives of others. Scary, those big feelings can be. Unless, you have a plan. That is where therapy comes in. We work together to develop plans to assure you accomplish the goals you set for yourself.

You may be in a season of life where you find yourself thinking, "I don't know who I am anymore," "I don't know what I need," or simply, "I don't know what comes next." Maybe your relationships feel harder than they used to, you're struggling to feel motivated or fulfilled, or you've spent so much time caring for everyone else that you've lost touch with yourself along the way. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I work with individuals navigating relationship challenges, identity shifts, life transitions, anxiety, and those "I don't know" seasons where you know something needs to change but aren't quite sure where to begin. Together, we can explore the patterns that are keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships and communication, reconnect with the parts of yourself that may have gotten lost along the way, and help you move toward a life that feels more like your own. I have a particular passion for supporting women through pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood, a season that can bring immense love, alongside unexpected challenges, overwhelming emotions, and shifts in identity. I support women navigating traumatic births, adjusting to NICU experiences, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, OCD, and intrusive thoughts. When I’m not in session, I’m usually spending time with my two children and enjoying the everyday moments of family life. I love baking, trying new recipes, getting outside, and finding time to slow down and recharge.

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs.
