Hi, I'm Bonnie! I'm a Licensed professional counselor in Arizona and New Jerey. I received a master's degree in Professional counseling ,and spent over ten years working with dual diagnosis clients. I specialize in working with adults dealing with trauma, substance use disorders, relationship issues, personality disorders, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression. My approach is flexible and tailored to your unique needs, blending Post-Induction Therapy, Transactional Analysis CBT, DBT, and a compassionate, person-centered approach.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During the first session we'll explore what led you to treatment, what you hope to gain from this experience, and your goals. We'll discuss barriers to meeting your goals in the past and collaborate on how to accomplish them now.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked adults for the past ten years on a variety of issues, I'm capable of being flexible in my approach and providing you with what you need to be successful. I believe strongly in empowering individuals by simultaneously being direct and empathetic.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with adults who have big feelings they are having hard time managing, feel controlled by a substance, and feel bogged down by their past. Individuals who wonder why they reacted to a situation the way they did or find themselves feeling an intense emotion and being unsure if it fits the current situation.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I've been trained in DBT and use it to help clients with becoming more mindful, regulating emotions, tolerating distress, and becoming more effective in interpersonal relationships.

Psychoanalytic

By using a psychoanalytic approach, we can explore how the past is interfering with one's perception of reality in the present and work towards nurturing and reparenting wounded and adapted parts of self to function more appropriately as an adult.
