My name is Lee Maxwell; a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Maximum Wellness, LLC. I have lived and worked in Metro Atlanta for over two decades. I grew up in rural Georgia; born to older parents who instilled in me the value of connection with others and treating others as I would want to be treated. I gained my passion for working in Geriatrics from my mother, who, on most Sundays throughout my childhood, would take me along with her to visit a local nursing home. I obtained my undergraduate degree in Sociology from Georgia Southern University; followed by a graduate degree in Clinical Social Work from Savannah State University. I have been working in the field of mental health care for 25 years; 16 of which have been dedicated to providing psychotherapy services; primarily to a geriatric population. After working in senior living communities throughout the pandemic, I decided to afford myself the opportunity to work with a younger population; which I found to be refreshing and resulted in opening up my private practice to include services for all adults over the age of 18yo. I have been professionally licensed in the state of Georgia since 2009.

Hello, my name is Luiza and I am the owner/therapist of FIT MIND counseling services. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in FL & MA and a Licensed Professional Counselor in DC, GA & VA. I am from Brazil, and I speak Portuguese as well :) I can understand Spanish pretty well too, but I do not speak fluently. FIT MIND counseling services enjoys empowering clients finding a more meaningful way to live their lives and assisting them learning about the importance of self-love. Helping clients to focus on themselves and on their self-care is a precious thing. When they learn to embrace and unconditionally love for being themselves, they become stronger in the face of negativity and more able to hold onto positive thoughts when faced with challenges. Mental illness is as real as any physical illness. We talk normally about cancer and diabetes, although the same should apply to mental illness. Emotional and mental health are just as important as the physical health of a human being. The emotional trauma that a brain endures in various of the human life cycle can be damaging and in the long run, just as detrimental as a psychical illness. People donate their organs, but they cannot donate their brains. Some people live with human-made hearts, but there is no such thing as human-made brains. I believe that our brain is the most important organ in our human body, so why don’t we start taking good care of it? Therapy is not only for people with mental illness. Therapy is for everyone. We all have faced or currently face some hardships in life. Talking to a therapist can help you deeply in improving your mental health, decrease your stress and live with more joy and intention! My name is Michael and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Chemical Dependency Counselor in Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina. As a psychotherapist, my vocation is supporting individuals, working together on your journey toward self-discovery, healing, and learning to thrive from the comfort and convenience of your home or office, and when it is most convenient for you. My work commonly addresses individuals experiencing difficulties in life due to problems stemming from difficulties early in life, anxiety, depression, major life changes, academic challenges (undergrad, graduate, post-graduate studies), the discomfort of feelings that go along with hypervigilance, procrastination, and perfectionism. Sometimes, we need help from someone new, experienced with developing collaborative relationships to find strengths we take for granted, and to embrace that we can be the person we’re meant to be. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, or major life changes? Let’s talk! I do not prescribe medication, and I do not see clients under the age of 18.

I am a master’s level licensed clinical mental health counselor (LMHC), (LPC) and credentialed SUD Counselor (CASAC-A) (CADC II) with training and expertise in both Cognitive Behavior Therapy as well as psychodynamic treatment. I work with young adults and adults and have expertise in treating patients with depression, anxiety, PTSD, compulsive, addictive behaviors and domestic violence. I have specialized training in various evidence-based treatments for trauma such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I hope to help patients learn effective ways to cope with stress, manage difficult emotions and communicate well with others. We have all acquired ways of coping that get in the way of our development, and manifest as emotional pain, such as anxiety and depression. I work with clients to identify and reduce these painful symptoms. Clients are then freer to use their energy in pursuit of their goals. I work with young, midlife, and older adults. I develop a safe and collaborative relationship with clients. In that context, I do short and long-term psychotherapy and train clients to use specific protocols to modify symptoms that are in the way of personal and professional functioning. My approach provides support, guidance, and education to help you become the best version of yourself and work towards achieving your goals. I consider it an honor to work alongside you, and I look forward to meeting you soon.

I became a therapist because therapy changed my life. Experiencing mental illness caused struggle and emotional suffering, but lead me to seek help. The support I found brought solace and healing, and eventually opened doors that led to becoming a therapist. It is such a meaningful experience to reach those who are now where I once was. Over the years I had opportunities to work in many settings, including medical and mental health hospitals, intensive outpatient, and residential addiction treatment centers, and now private practice.

While I emphasize choice and personal responsibility, I also make it a priority to validate each client’s emotional experience. Are you stressed and overwhelmed by your health, your day-to-day life, or your relationships? As a Psychologist with more than 30 years of experience, as well as being a two-time breast cancer survivor and a caretaker for my elderly parents, I can help you to navigate health issues and life stresses more effectively. Life can be difficult for each of us at some point in time, in ways unique to our own circumstances. My goal is to help people through the tough chapters so that they move into better chapters with additional tools to handle challenges and stresses. I don't view people as being broken or needing fixing. We all need someone with whom to sort things through at times, someone who isn't part of our day-to-day mix. In therapy, clients develop more effective expectations by redefining their stresses and challenges, reduce emotional upset and distress by looking at their issues from a new angle, and feel empowered by trying new approaches to effective problem-solving. I would be pleased to walk this journey with you, to reduce stress and find a more satisfying approach to life. Available appointments are those set aside specifically for intakes. I see clients through Grow Therapy on Monday and Tuesday. I cannot do letters, FMLA forms or provide disability opinions for clients who have not already been involved in therapy with me for at least several months. While I really enjoy working with individuals aged 65 and older, due to Medicare regulations, I cannot see traditional Medicare clients for self-pay. I can see those seniors with Medicare Replacement plans which are accepted by Grow Therapy. I only work with individuals, and do not do marital or family therapy.
