New to Grow
Hello, I hope you're doing well. My name is Lakeicha and I'm a practicing Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been working to assist others in improving their overall quality of life and well-being for over 20-years. I have worked with all populations including inpatient, military, and incarcerated. I believe my purpose in this life is to serve others. I take honor in my oath to not do harm.
My goal is to help you grow from your struggles, heal from your pain, and move forward to where you want to be in your life. I promise to respect your rights to self-determine your course of treatment and success, and to always treat You with dignity. In our first session You can expect to learn about me as I learn about you and build rapport and trust. You can expect active listening, validation and empathy to promote full expression and increase vulnerability and safety within the session. I look forward to walking your journey with you.
My greatest strengths are my compassion, empathy, and commitment. I believe in second, third, and fourth chances as we are constantly evolving and changing so it's never to late to refocus or recommit to improving oneself.
My focus is to help individuals heal, become inspired, and aware of their inner strengths. I achieve this by listening to your concerns, customizing a treatment plan, and being a part of your support team. I utilize evidence-based practices, and an array of treatment modalities to identify treatment goals and objectives. Areas of interests include but are not limited to working with individuals who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, substance abuse, addiction, trauma, grief, and/or relationship issues. In addition, I enjoy working with individuals in a safe and therapeutic setting. My approach to treatment is tailored to each client’s personality and therapeutic goals.
I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy throughout treatment with Patients as it draws in multiple tools to get to underlying issues. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to help individuals manage various mental health conditions, emotional concerns, and challenging life situations. It helps individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and empowers them to identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors.
Cognitive Processing Therapy is used to treat Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other trauma-related mental health conditions. It helps individuals understand and process traumatic experiences, challenging negative thoughts and beliefs that contribute to PTSD symptoms.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy is used to help manage intense emotions, develop healthier coping skills, and improve relationships. It addresses issues like depression, anxiety, PTSD, and substance use disorders. By teaching skills in areas like emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, DBT empowers people to navigate life's challenges more effectively.
Emotion-focused therapy (EFT) is used to help individuals and couples understand, express, and regulate their emotions, ultimately leading to healthier relationships and greater emotional well-being. It's particularly effective for addressing attachment issues, improving communication, and resolving conflicts by fostering a deeper understanding of emotional needs and responses.
