LICSW, 6 years of experience
New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW/LICSW) providing individual therapy to adults (18+) across Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Kentucky. My journey to becoming a therapist began with a deep desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This passion led me to pursue a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology, giving me insight into both human behavior and the systems that shape our experiences. From there, I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work, building a strong foundation to guide, support, and empower those I work with. My practice is grounded in a client-centered, collaborative, and trauma-informed philosophy. I view therapy as a partnership, with your voice and perspective at the center. I draw from approaches such as Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to meet your needs and support meaningful progress.
Feeling nervous about your first therapy session—or your first with a new therapist—is completely normal. You’re not alone. The first session isn’t about fixing everything, but about building a connection. We’ll explore your background, concerns, and hopes, moving at a pace that feels comfortable as we create a plan that supports your goals.
I prioritize creating a relaxed, safe, and non-judgmental environment where you can be yourself. Open and genuine communication is central to my approach—I listen closely, provide opportunities for reflection, and honor your perspective. I believe a strong therapeutic relationship is key to navigating challenges, developing lifelong skills, and promoting healing. To support your growth, I utilize evidence-based practices and a variety of therapeutic modalities—including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), EMDR, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)—tailored to your unique needs. Therapy is a partnership, and I walk alongside you, providing guidance, tools, and support to help you move closer to your goals—even when the journey feels challenging. I am dedicated to helping you feel heard, respected, and empowered as you grow and heal.
I work with adults of all ages (18+) and have experience supporting diverse populations. I help individuals navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, stress, or the lasting effects of trauma/PTSD. My clients may be healing from past experiences, building coping or communication skills, setting healthy boundaries, exploring identity, strengthening self-esteem, or working toward personal goals. If you’re feeling stuck, I’m here to help you recognize your strengths, find your authentic voice, and build the confidence to use it every day. Together, we’ll create a plan for growth that feels meaningful and achievable.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can help with anxiety and depression by showing how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect each other. Together, we’ll work on recognizing unhelpful patterns and practicing new ways of thinking—so you can feel lighter, calmer, and more in control.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a powerful, trauma-focused therapy that helps people process and heal from distressing experiences—especially those that feel stuck or unresolved in the mind and body. I am also trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is a short-term, trauma-focused therapy similar to EMDR that helps you process distressing memories in detail—without having to verbally share them—so you can feel calmer and more in control.
Eclectic therapy is a flexible approach that combines tools from different types of therapy—like CBT, EMDR, or mindfulness—so we can use what feels most supportive for you. Instead of following just one method, this approach lets us tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals.
Trauma-informed care means creating a safe, supportive space that recognizes how past experiences may affect your life today. This approach values trust, choice, and empowerment—so you feel respected, understood, and in control of your healing journey.
