Hi, I'm Katie, a Licensed Clinical Social.
Helping and supporting others has been a driving factor in my life; therefore, I began my career as a teacher. My education and experience in the classroom greatly influenced me; however, I saw how difficult it is to learn when one is struggling with many emotional and mental health needs. While in graduate school, I transitioned to working with families in more of a case management role. During that time, I started noticing how the adults I worked with were often struggling and had not received the help they needed. After completing graduate school, I began working in an inpatient hospital that treats mental health and chemical dependency. After several years working with patients individually and facilitating group therapy, I transitioned to managing an intensive outpatient mental health program for senior adults. In this role, I facilitated group therapy and met with patients individually at times. I greatly enjoyed getting to know my clients and cheering alongside them as they made progress. While I value group therapy, I recognize that it is not the right fit for everyone. Therefore, I have set up a private practice to meet the needs of individuals in ways I was unable to do in previous roles. I believe change is possible and that each person has strengths and life experiences that they can draw upon to help themselves move forward. My passion is helping clients utilize what they already have, learn additional tools for coping, and develop healthier ways of thinking.

So, I come to you not only as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, but as someone who brings the experience of reality to each of your therapy sessions.

Hi there!
I'm a therapist who specializes in helping people overcome people-pleasing tendencies and trauma. You might be tired of constantly putting the needs of others before your own, feeling like you're never enough, or struggling to set healthy boundaries. It can be overwhelming to navigate these challenges on your own, but together, we can work towards building your self-esteem, creating space for your own needs, and developing new ways of communicating with others.
If you've experienced trauma, it can be difficult to trust others and feel safe in your everyday life. You might be struggling with anxiety, depression, or other symptoms that make it hard to move forward. I want you to know that healing is possible, and you don't have to go through this alone. Using evidence-based therapies like Brainspotting and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I can help you process your experiences, reduce distressing symptoms, and move towards a more fulfilling life.

***Please schedule a consultation before scheduling your intake session. I prefer to have a brief conversation with all potential clients to ensure we are the best fit for working together.*** Have you ever felt like you struggled to work through some of life's challenges but thought it wasn't serious enough to get help? I believe that therapy is helpful not only to work through difficult times, gain a new perspective, identify our strengths, and give us the tools to maintain a healthy mind. We often face the uneasiness of new experiences and life transitions that can be hard to manage, especially on our own. If you have ever felt like this, you may have felt overwhelmed, frustrated, and emotionally stuck.
My passion is helping you find the tools, provide support, and uncover your strengths to navigate life's challenges successfully. Together we will develop healthy ways to manage emotions, anxiety, build meaningful relationships, cope with stressful situations, and set boundaries.
I want you to feel empowered and confident when facing relationship issues, school/work issues, and adjusting to the constant changes in life. I will work collaboratively with you to develop new strategies to help you thrive in your life. See if I am the right fit for you, let's talk!
