Hi there, I'm Meredith! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida providing Telehealth services to clients statewide. I know that finding a therapist can be intimidating as you are searching for someone you can trust, you have taken the first step! I hope to make that process easier with a personable, empathetic, yet direct approach. I decided to become a therapist as I have a desire to make people feel heard, seen, and understood. I know what it is like to deal with grief, anxiety, and wanting to make positive changes in interpersonal relationships! When working with my clients I aim for a collaborative relationship to healing and exploring emotions using Emotionally Focused Therapy. I look forward to working with you!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we’ll take some time to get to know each other and explore what led you to seek therapy, as well as the areas in your life where you’re hoping to see change. Together, we'll set some goals and create a plan for moving forward. My aim is for you to leave feeling a bit lighter than when we first started. This session will also give you the chance to get a sense of my approach to therapy and see if it feels like a good fit for you! I look forward to meeting you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a therapist, my goal is for our work together to feel collaborative, where you always feel heard and supported. Some of the strengths I bring to our sessions are my natural empathy and ability to connect, along with my commitment to helping you challenge yourself and stay accountable to the changes you're working toward. I recognize that each client is unique, so your feedback and communication are key. Ultimately, my goal is to create a genuine, non-judgmental space where you feel safe to be open and explore what matters most to you!

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Are you dealing with patterns in your life that you try to change, but keep coming back to? Are you struggling with anxiety or depression? Are you wanting to have healthier relationships with others in your life, but don't know how? I have found that through my approach I have been able to help adolescents, women, and couples make positive, sustainable changes. I love working specifically with women's issues, anxiety, depression, conflict, infidelity, life changes, and improving self-esteem! Each client is unique, so our work together will be tailored to what you need to start making positive changes in your life. I primarily use EFT, CBT, and Person-Centered Therapy to help you make progress toward your goals in each session, and we’ll work on ways to apply those tools outside of session. Over the years, I’ve helped individuals process pain, unravel anxious patterns, and reduce depressive symptoms. I’ve supported couples in understanding each other’s perspectives, finding forgiveness, and improving communication. I’ve also worked with adolescents to help them express themselves and feel truly heard.

My treatment methods

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)

When working with clients, I use an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) perspective, a research approach that helps people explore and heal emotional wounds and attachment injuries. I love using EFT because it creates a space for clients to explore their feelings and process relationship struggles. Whether I’m working with individuals or couples, I often see people become more open, more expressive, and better able to connect with themselves and the important people in their lives. EFT helps with conflict, infidelity, understanding one another, and making positive changes for lifelong results.

Gottman method

The Gottman Method has become my favorite way to help couples make healthy changes in their communication, intimacy, and conflict cycle. The Gottman Method helps couples reconnect in a maintainable life changing way. Do you want to be heard and understand your partner in moments of conflict? Do you want to feel a deeper emotional connection with your partner? The Gottman Method can help you reach your relationship goals.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

When working with individuals, I also use a Person Centered Approach to counseling. Person Centered Therapy helps individuals gain a sense in control in their lives, process emotional hurts, and discover who they are. This approach helps clients dealing with depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, or life-transitions.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a great approach for those dealing with anxiety, depression, and relationship issues. CBT helps you identify negative self-talk, behaviors, and thought patterns. Once identified we will work together on finding ways to challenge the behaviors, identify and establish healthier coping skills.
