Hello, My name is Philomena , but you can call me Philo, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker- Qualified Supervisor in the state of Florida who has been in the field since 2013. My work history is colored with working with Teen Mother experiencing Crisis Pregnancy who opted to parent or place their children for adoption, assessing the Veteran population for biopsychosocial needs, and working in the educational setting as a School Therapist for Middle and High School age students. I have a love for Women, Gender & Sexuality Studies and Social Work Practice with the Elderly and have Undergrad and Graduate Certificates in both areas, respectively. While my resume and credentials may speak to my professional qualifications, I have many additional experiences that support my knowledge and cultural sensitivity. I offer a zeal for working with older teens, young adults, and women wishing to manifest change in their lives. I have worked with students struggling under social pressures and depression and have a natural knack for life skills, career guidance and helping others adjust to "Adulting." I firmly believe in the connectivity to ourselves and our environment and utilize a Systems / Strength-Based approach, focusing on what can be accomplished rather than deficits. Working as a Psychotherapist at NOLA Adulting LLC, I am able to help in bridging the gap between what formal education has taught us and life experiences. High School has prepared us for solving the quadratic equation, running a mile under 10 minutes, and understanding that in 1492 Columbus sailed the ocean blue, but we are not prepared on how to manage that feeling of emptiness we may experience post graduation and entering the workforce, setting appropriate boundaries in interpersonal relationships, or correct work email etiquette when we are fed up.

I am a female therapist who enjoys working with both men, women. children and teenagers. I am very dedicated to my work. I worked with diverse populations early on, as I worked in the community settings with families that struggled with the challenges of being single parent households , addictions, abuse and behavioral problems. I also worked for over a year with cancer patients and learned their struggles and provided support and tools to manage their emotional turmoil. All these experiences taught me to have a better understanding for diverse cultures and people from all walks of life. Today I work in private practice and continue working with that passion and understanding with my clients.

Hello, I’m Carmen Bales, LCSW. I’m a licensed clinical social worker with a background in hospice and medical social work, where I’ve spent many years supporting people through grief, chronic stress, life transitions, and uncertainty. In therapy, I offer a calm, supportive space for adults who feel anxious, overwhelmed, or emotionally stuck—even when they appear “high-functioning” on the outside. My approach is integrative and person-centered, drawing from talk therapy, expressive arts, and body-based (somatic) awareness to help clients reconnect with themselves and make sense of what they are carrying. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and Certified Grief-Informed Professional (CGIP), I bring specialized training to our work together. Additionally, I hold a Comprehensive 3-Year Certification in Intermodal Expressive Arts. You do not need to feel “creative” to work with me. Expressive and reflective tools are used gently and always at your comfort level. I believe healing begins with being seen, understood, and supported—rather than being rushed to fix or change yourself. If you choose to have sessions with me, you will be truly seen

I am an LMHC therapist, public speaker, community organizer, social and environmental activist, and have been listening for decades. My Master of Clinical Psychotherapy, 2013 came from the University of North Florida. I experienced a Clinical Pastoral Education, in deep listening. I worked in the Talk program at Wounded the warriors talked; I listened. Trauma Supportive Therapy is used to safely address, as slowly as need be, the pain of the past that keeps coming to trip your defenses in the present at all the wrong moments. I can be that supporting presence who will help sort it out by listening, sincerely hearing you, reflecting the depth of your feelings back to you. I practice the therapy of defining personal meaning, so, together we will think about your options, planning, purpose, and goals for living a meaningful life without being afraid of tripping over your past or yourself. I practice person centered therapy by meeting you where you are. I strive to be culturally sensitive, non-prejudicial and use strength-based therapy as a jump point, truly believing I am the guide for you, but you are the treasures and wisdom keeper. Of all the reasons people come to therapy: anger, guilt, anxiety, changes, transitions, depression, trauma, jealousy, and “it is just not working anymore”, the extra burden of race and racism is more than just a nuance to be nodded at in therapy. I will view race as central to all the other pieces, when it is central to you. I am inclusive, secular, competent, affirming, and non-judgmental. I have worked with people in transition, people who are very much defined, “but things got complicated”, people in the communities of LGBTQA, Polyamory, Kink, non-gendered. Each are safe and welcome here.

If you recently lost coverage or had an insurance change, I currently have openings and can discuss options. My mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, clarity, and confidence. I take a holistic, client-centered approach rooted in the biopsychosocial model—addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment to support lasting well-being. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of the person in front of me. I am also actively pursuing certification in Mind-Body Medicine through the Center for Mind Body Medicine and frequently integrate these techniques—such as meditation, guided imagery, and breathwork—into sessions to support emotional balance and self-regulation. With extensive training in geriatric assessment, I have a deep passion for working with older adults, helping them maintain cognitive and emotional vitality in later life. As a certified clinical supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, I am also committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of compassionate, skilled social workers. Above all, I strive to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to move toward meaningful change.

Hello, I am Fabiola Desire. Thank you for choosing me and you are in great hands! The reason I choose to be in this is field is that my Haitian grandmother taught to me to see the good in people and show compassion to others. I am a product of Haitian immigrant parents and saw the lack of mental health services in the community. I want to be able to get you through your life challenges. I have provided a safe place you to share the most sensitive moments in your life. Therapy can be difficult as we discussed vulnerable and sensitive events they may have happened in your life. However, seeking therapy can give you a sense of empowerment, freedom, and a place for you to heal and see things from a different perspective. I am here to be along with you during this journey. Clients have been able to share the most difficult events in their lives with me. I provide support, comfortable and safe place for you to share your life.

Hi, my name is Vijaya Siddalingappa also known as VJ. I am a licensed clinical psychologist PhD, and currently practice in Florida. I have been in the mental health field for 25 years. I speak 2 additional languages( Hindi and Kannada) and I am currently offering telehealth appointments. I am very happy to be a part of the Grow community! I have a holistic approach with a non judgmental stance as I believe each individual is unique. So I tailor interventions to client's needs and not use "one size fits all" approach. I have an unconditional approach and appreciate diversity in each person accentuating their strengths. I use passive approach (providing space for venting their feelings) and an active approach by teaching cognitive behavioral skills which clients can easily learn and use these skills when needed. I like to cook, exercise, watch football and volunteer at community events for the less fortunate. I maintain a healthy balance with work, recreation and self- care. I work hard and play hard! My experience includes working with adults, geriatrics, children and women in outpatient and inpatient settings. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (CBT); Dialectical Behavioral therapy (DBT); Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); and Trauma focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TFCBT). I am also passionate about individual differences and multicultural studies. My expertise is working with addictions (dual diagnosis), trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, Obsessive compulsive disorders, schizophrenia, domestic violence and sexual abuse, stress management, loss and grief, and adjustment disorders. Hi, I’m Anakarla. If you’ve been feeling anxious, stuck, hard on yourself, or unsure of who you’re becoming, you’re not alone, and you don’t have to sort it out by yourself. Many of the people I work with are used to “holding it together” on the outside, while quietly feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or questioning their direction on the inside. I’m a Latina therapist who believes therapy should feel warm, supportive, and rooted in real connection, not clinical or distant. My approach is collaborative and person-centered, which means we move at your pace and work together as a team. I see you as the expert of your own life, and my role is to help you make sense of your experiences, gently challenge what’s not serving you, and support you in building a life that feels more aligned and fulfilling. Our work together is a mix of reflection and action. We’ll explore patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and relationships, while also building practical tools you can use in your everyday life. I often incorporate approaches like CBT, ACT, DBT, and mindfulness, but in a way that feels natural, not overwhelming or overly technical. Think of it as creating a toolkit that helps you not just cope, but feel more grounded, confident, and intentional in how you live. I also believe healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy. When it feels right, I bring in humor and lightness to help you feel more at ease and human in the process.

Hi, my name is Luz, my pronouns are she/her/hers, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). I worked as a teacher for over 15 years before making the journey into a community mental health career. I have experience in mobile crisis response, trauma, forensic mental health concerns. To explain who I am as a therapist, I reflect back to my role as an educator. In the classroom, there was a movement for the teacher to be less of a “sage on the stage” (teacher-centered approach) and more of a “guide on the side” (student-centered). To me, therapy is a lesson plan for a learning experience. It's a guide to develop what the client needs to learn in order to cope with whatever barriers are showing up in the client's life, whether that barrier is an internal issue, such as self-image, or how to cope with work stress. My therapeutic perspective is to provide empathetic, non-judgmental, compassionate guidance and support in an atmosphere of respect and safety while allowing clients to be the experts of their lives, much like “a co-pilot, a sous chef, or an assistant manager” of a client-therapist relationship. I use solution-focused elements to help move toward desired goals, cognitive behavioral techniques to challenge unhelpful thoughts, and motivational interviewing to help gain understanding and clarity. Outside of traditional therapy, I enjoy the practices of mindfulness, guided meditation, aromatherapy, and Reiki. Finding a therapist that's the right fit can be a challenging task, but taking that first step towards a healthier you is worth it. I look forward to working with you to help break down those barriers and make progress in areas that most matter to you.

Hello, I am very happy to meet you here. My name is Cassandra Sams, but please call me Sandy. I have been working as a counselor for over 20 years. Most of my experience has been in private practice but I also spent some time in agencies working with children and adolescents. I believe the agency work gave me wonderful opportunities to work with families and to help them navigate very challenging issues like mood disorders and anxiety. I feel very privileged to have been allowed to help parents find new behaviors to help them navigate the world of parenting. I also have been able to help children and adolescents understand their parents' perspectives. Likewise, I really enjoy working with individuals who are dealing with various life transitions such as leaving school to go to college or into the workforce, leaving college and building a career, getting married and having children, or struggling with the mid-life crisis and coping with career changes or life changes such as divorce or deaths of family members. I do not consider myself to be the expert of your life. You are the expert and I am the witness. I feel honored and privileged to be invited into your life experiences and to be a witness to your life's journey. I believe that your story is sacred and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of it. I use cognitive behavioral strategies blended with existential therapy to assist you in discovering what your story is. My hope is that you will learn to love your stories as much as I do.

In my practice, I utilize an integrative approach that draws from a variety of evidence-based modalities. I believe that no single therapeutic method works for everyone, which is why I tailor my approach to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with. My toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), which focuses on building skills for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness; Person-Centered therapy, which emphasizes empathy and unconditional positive regard; Solution-Focused therapy, which concentrates on finding practical solutions to present challenges; EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which is particularly effective for trauma processing; and Psychoeducation, which empowers clients with knowledge about their conditions and coping strategies.
