You may feel desperate, alone, and misunderstood. You feel like you are floating in the bottom of a lake and cannot see the light above you. Everyday, you feel like you are just going through the motions. If this describes you, then I may be the therapist for you. In my nearly twenty years of experience, I have helped people like you reach their potential and achieve the recovery that they needed. There is no set system or quick fix as others may promise, but I will walk down the road with you. My primary focus is on helping you deal with ambiguity. Often our thoughts and subsequently what we teach ourselves becomes rigid and fairly black and white. Using a pragmatic and authentic approach to therapy I try and help you be okay with things that are beyond your control and work with you to establish yourself as the protagonist in your own story. This is primarily accomplished through conversation and allowing you the client to guide the therapy in the direction it needs to go.

Hi there, I am Margarita
Gaining and maintaining balance, peace, and mental and emotional stability are not easy goals to achieve. We all go through difficult times in our lives, which negatively affect the way we think, feel and act, affecting in turn the people around us.
As a counselor, I help people to move forward and overcome situations where mental and emotional health has been compromised, promoting harmony and balance, and training them with the necessary tools for future challenges.
I believe that Integral health is achieved when there is a balance between physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social factors, which allows adequate growth and development in all stages of life. For this reason, I offer a mental health counseling service with a humanistic and holistic vision in a peaceful and safe environment.
I am here to help. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you back to balance.

believe healing is not about fixing what is “wrong,” but about building a kinder, more trusting relationship with yourself. I work with adolescents and adults who are navigating life transitions, issues around identity and self esteem, or feeling the lingering effects of traumatic experiences. Together we will work towards restoring a sense of grounding, choice, and self-compassion. With compassion and curiosity, the survival responses that once protected us can begin to soften opening the door to healing, thriving, and building a life lived with intention.
My approach is heart centered and trauma informed. My work integrates EMDR (technique for reprocessing traumatic experiences), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). As a certified yoga teacher and Reiki practitioner, I value the body’s wisdom and may incorporate mindfulness or somatic awareness into our sessions.
Whether you’re brand new to therapy or returning after time away, my hope is to offer a space that feels welcoming, supportive, and collaborative. I believe that you are the expert on yourself and I am here to help guide you along your healing journey to help you move towards your goals and a life that feels more authentic and aligned.
My name is Chiquita and I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I received my BS in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and my MS in Mental Health Counseling from Capella University. I’ve been working in the counseling field since 2012. I work with all ages especially teens and adults in areas such as anger management, anxiety, low self-esteem, school and peer issues, communication, ADHD and more. I utilize cognitive-behavioral therapy and person centered therapy to assist clients with better functioning in their everyday lives. I listen to my clients and their needs to gain an understanding of their perspectives and presenting issues. The way I tailor sessions depends on the particular client, issues, and needs. Different clients require different methods. I am open, honest, empathetic and non-judgmental, but also tell it like it is.
Hi! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I work with diverse populations providing compassionate and evidence based care to individuals, families, and groups navigating mental health issues, grief, life transitions, and trauma. Hi, I'm Ricardo. I'm a Hispanic man who's done my own work in therapy to figure out who I am and who I want to be—which is a big part of why I do this work today.
I went into counseling field because I kept seeing people who felt unheard or misunderstood by the people around them, often carrying more than anyone realized. That's especially true for a lot of men and teenage boys I've worked with—individuals who feel like they're supposed to be strong, keep things to themselves, or handle things alone, but who rarely have a space to actually talk about what's underneath that. I grew up seeing some of those same pressures and unhealthy patterns around what it means to "be a man," and part of my work now is helping men and boys move away from those roles and into a healthier, more grounded version of who they are—as partners, providers, sons, and people.
I especially enjoy working with teenage boys who are figuring out who they are, often at an age when it's hard to talk to the adults around them about what's really going on. I try to meet them where they are—not lecturing, not judging—so they actually want to keep showing up and talking.
For parents: if your son is pulling away, shutting down, or you're just not sure how to reach him right now, that's exactly the kind of thing we can work through together.
Outside of the therapy room, I'm endlessly curious—I love traveling, learning about different cultures, sports, and music (I play a bit of guitar). I think that mix of curiosity, care, and having done some of my own work is a lot of what I bring into the room with clients.
I have been a therapist for over 25 years. I have a Master's in Social Work and a Master's in Education. I am also a certified Pet Bereavement Specialist. I am very flexible with scheduling. I am looking forward to meeting with people in my office
Appointments after 8pm would be virtual. My puppy is with me at the office. She is hypoallergic, a psychiatric service dog and being trained as a Therapy Dog. (if there is an issue with that please let me know.
I utilize a narrative therapy style. I prioritize building a strong foundation of trust in my client relationships and creating a safe environment for them. I believe that long term healing and sustainable growth blossoms from genuine conversation. This style of therapy highlights an opportunity for me to bear witness to your story, validate your experience, and support you in moving forward. I am an Illinois, Wisconsin, and Florida Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) who has extensive experience working with individuals, groups, couples, and families. I earned my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from Benedictine University, where the prominent perspective was person-centered therapy. I have worked with several different client populations including couples with marriage difficulties, adults struggling with depression, anxiety, and other life adjustment issues, physically and sexually abused adolescents and adults, adolescents with mental health issues related to school, home, adjustment, or mental illness, and even adolescents and adults on the verge of suicide. In working with these populations, I have gained vast experience in family dynamics and feel it is important to focus on the whole system, especially when a child is involved. I have also been trained in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and I feel many adults and adolescents could greatly benefit from learning these skills. God is our ultimate counselor and His word is referenced and prayed from as part of the healing process.
Hi!!! I am a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I am also certified in emotional intelligence. I've done years of work with young adults, as well as more mature adults, who seek to have greater confidence, self-esteem, or communication skills OR may be navigating various goals that intertwine both personal and professional development. I am passionate about helping others "figure it out" and try to make sense of the world around them in a more optimistic way. Note: If by chance you are interested in working with me but might need to request other days and times we can do a consultation to explore options.
