Hi there, I am Margarita Gaining and maintaining balance, peace, and mental and emotional stability are not easy goals to achieve. We all go through difficult times in our lives, which negatively affect the way we think, feel and act, affecting in turn the people around us. As a counselor, I help people to move forward and overcome situations where mental and emotional health has been compromised, promoting harmony and balance, and training them with the necessary tools for future challenges. I believe that Integral health is achieved when there is a balance between physical, emotional, mental, spiritual, and social factors, which allows adequate growth and development in all stages of life. For this reason, I offer a mental health counseling service with a humanistic and holistic vision in a peaceful and safe environment. I am here to help. Together, we can identify what’s not working and get you back to balance.
In our first session together, we''ll start with brief introduction, then dive into the specific challenges you are facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I offer personalized services, specializing in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief, stress, anger management, parenting, substance abuse issues, family conflicts and life transitions.
I love working with Hispanic adults that are experiencing anxiety, stressed out or depressed. I also offers Christian Counseling.
As a therapist I use psychological theories and techniques within a Christian framework to help clients regain their balance and have functional and fulfilling lives. Encouraging them to find peace with God, with themselves and with others, as well as learning to take care of their minds and bodies. Since incorporating a Christian approach into clinical practice more than 10 years ago, I have noticed a marked improvement in the mental health of my patients, which motivates me to continue offering this type of counseling.
Cognitive behavioral therapy combines cognitive therapy with behavior therapy by identifying maladaptive patterns of thinking, emotional responses, or behaviors and replacing them with more desirable patterns. Cognitive behavioral therapy focuses on changing the automatic negative thoughts that can contribute to and worsen our emotional difficulties, depression, and anxiety. These spontaneous negative thoughts also have a detrimental influence on our mood. Through CBT, faulty thoughts are identified, challenged, and replaced with more objective, realistic thoughts. In my clinical experience and over the years I have seen that this technique has proven to be effective and fast in helping patients feel better and learn new ways to manage symptoms and daily difficulties.
