Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 10 years experience helping people see their value, manage their emotions and feel empowered. I am licensed in Georgia, North Carolina and Florida. I am a retired Air Force Veteran who has a passion for those who serve, whether it is military service or serving your family. I have experience helping people with depression, anxiety, grief, anger management, phase of life stressors, relationship conflict and self-esteem concerns. I am also very passionate about my relationship with Christ and love helping other build their relationship with Christ along with managing life circumstances. I love helping others find a balance physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and spiritually. Seeking help can be scary, my desire is to ease that fear and to help you laugh, feel comfortable and confident whatever environment you find yourself in.
A typical first session with me includes building rapport, hearing your story and helping you form goals. After the intake session we will continue to build rapport and process through the challenges you are facing. I use a variety of therapeutic approaches; cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT). Do not feel rushed to dive deep into your story, I understand it can be uncomfortable sharing your concerns with a stranger. My goal is to make you feel safe knowing that I care about you and want you to succeed.
The biggest strengths I bring (according to past clients)are empathy, humor, and meeting people where they are. I truly love what I do and believe that being a mental health provider is a calling that requires patience and love.
My ideal client is one who desires to work and address their concerns. I have spend majority of my practice working with people who suffer from depression and anxiety. I find myself very comfortable helping those who are dealing with self-esteem issues, interpersonal relationships issues, grief, anger issues and phase of life concerns. I am also comfortable and capable of working with military member and their family. I served in the Air Force for 20+ years and understand the stress of military life and transitioning out of it.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
10 years experience utilizing this treatment method. I use this approach with depression, anxiety, grief, and anger management.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
4 years experience utilizing this treatment method. I use this when working with people who want to regulate their emotions, improve interpersonal relationships or increase distress tolerance.
Faith based therapy
10 years utilizing this approach. This is used when I have clients who want to address faith concerns or need help understanding their faith. I am a Christian so my faith based approach is base on a Biblical foundation.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
10 years experience utilizing this treatment style. I use this approach with people who are suffering with anxiety and depression and want a quick solution to this concerns. I will use this for people who have not dealt with long term depression and anxiety. I will also use this approach with people having phase of life concerns.
Motivational Interviewing
2 years experience using this treatment approach . I use this approach with people who are having issues making decisions in life or those having difficulties moving forward.
