I work with adults who are navigating depression, relationship struggles, substance use and co-occurring disorders, complicated family dynamics, academic or career stress, life transitions, and the impact of trauma. Whatever brings you to therapy, my goal is to meet you where you are and create a space that feels supportive, steady, and real. In our work together, I bring curiosity, reflection, and a bit of humor into the room. I draw from approaches like cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness, and I tailor our sessions to what feels most helpful for you. Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all, and we’ll figure out what works best—together. I aim to offer a safe, nonjudgmental space where we can look at patterns that may be keeping you stuck, make room for difficult emotions, and practice being a little kinder to yourself along the way. Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating or overly clinical—it can be thoughtful, engaging, and even relieving. Clients often describe me as both compassionate and direct. You don’t have to do this alone. I’d be honored to be on your team as we take it one step at a time.

I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a very young age and willing to help out wherever. I am a musician starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life. I decided to grow my family before pursuing a career. I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field because of a family member being diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my AA in Psychology, then a dual degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. After my undergrad, I went on to receive my master's in social work. I have worked with Veterans, homeless, hospice, young adults, children, elders, couples and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses. In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion I share with everyone I encounter.

Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between the demands of work and parenting or co-parenting, while also managing your health, housework, and perhaps other demands? In your family, does the caretaking always fall to you? Are you experiencing depression and anxiety in reaction to either a past trauma and/or burnout from stress? I work with women who are experiencing what I like to call "multiple-role fatigue". I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related stress disorders common to women who face an ever-mounting load of responsibilities in a complex society, where being a mother or a caretaker often comes with diverse challenges and responsibilities. I also like to work with clients on their recovery from trauma. With this in mind, I incorporate various treatment modalities, where healing and recovery can take place through a combination of compassionate conversation, active listening, homework assignments journaling, mindfulness, self-reflection, cognitive behavior therapy, grief counseling, boundary setting and trauma-informed care. I also offer a faith-based support, where clients seeking a Christian approach are welcome. I like to form a supportive alliance with caregivers to help them navigate the demands of parenting a child or children with higher needs. I focus on parental needs, and I work with clients using evidence-based techniques to empower them to achieve balance and experience lasting well-being. For parents, I'm a big advocate of self-care, and I help my clients learn to nurture themselves in a sustainable way to avoid burnout. I also believe that parents need to feel seen and heard, and the stress of parenting cannot be overemphasized. Forming a partnership with parents, giving them a forum in which they feel consistently supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, therefore, is one of my top priorities as a therapist.

I believe therapy works best when you feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted without judgment. I aim to create a space where you can show up as you are, while also feeling supported to grow in meaningful ways. I have experience working with individuals navigating trauma, substance use, life transitions, relationship challenges, and patterns that no longer feel aligned with who they want to be. Many of the people I work with are high-functioning on the outside but feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected internally. My approach is collaborative, open-minded, and grounded in both compassion and honesty. I integrate evidence-based practices to help you build practical tools while also exploring the deeper roots of your experiences. In addition to my clinical work, I’ve led treatment programs in both residential and outpatient settings, which has strengthened my ability to support clients with complex needs and a wide range of experiences. Clients often describe me as genuine, supportive, and easy to talk to. I also believe in being direct when it’s helpful, offering reflection and insight in a way that supports real change, not just short-term relief. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, working through past experiences, or trying to better understand yourself, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you while keeping your goals and values at the center of our work.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. Whether you are exploring therapy for yourself or as a couple, for the first time or returning to it, let us acknowledge the courage and humility it takes to seek support outside of yourself - a powerful step toward healing, growth, and change. You may be navigating stress, loss, disconnection, conflict, anger, depression, anxiety, a difficult event, or living with trauma. You may already have insight into your challenges and are looking for the right support to nudge you forward. You are here. I have been a mental health service provider since 2004, after earning my M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. I'm currently pursuing a doctorate in Conflict Analysis and Resolution at Nova Southeastern University, where my research focuses on relational resonance, relationships, and reconciliation in conflict resolution. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed and grounded in evidence-based practices, including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral, Acceptance & Commitment, Mindfulness, Interpersonal, Humanistic and Client-Centered, Psychodynamic therapeutic modalities, among others. While theory and technique are crucial, I believe the heart of therapy lies in genuine human connection. I sit with you. I listen to understand your unique lived experiences. I support you. Through questioning, you are guided to the answers you seek; with your permission, I offer different perspectives and encouragement as you do the meaningful work of change. We build a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, honesty, and collaboration. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you on your path to greater well-being.

I have 15 + years of experience in child welfare, behavioral health, and mental health, with a specialization in system improvements. Throughout my career, I've demonstrated a track record of leading innovative programs aimed at supporting children and families. Previously, I served as the CEO for the Children's Advocacy Center on the Treasure Coast and as the COO for Hibiscus Children’s Center, where I successfully implemented the Sanctuary Model, an organizational change model grounded in trauma theory. During my time at Hibiscus, I held multiple roles, including Director of Mental Health Services and Program Coordinator for the Sexual Abuse Treatment Program. My commitment to providing transformative care and my dedication to advancing the mission of mental health advocacy have been the driving forces behind my work. I currently serve as the Clinical Director at Remedy Therapy, where I continue to utilize my expertise in child welfare, behavioral health, and mental health. In this role, I am dedicated to overseeing the implementation of effective therapeutic interventions and ensuring the provision of high-quality care to our clients. My focus remains on driving positive outcomes for individuals and families while fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment within the organization. I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from South University, and an MBA from Liberty University, which I obtained in 2017. Additionally, I am a licensed mental health counselor and qualified supervisor for registered mental health interns seeking licensure. Hi there! I'm Dorian. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Florida - a Jax native with a recent move south to the Space Coast. I received my Masters of Social Work from Florida State University in 2014 focusing on clinical social work. I approach therapy with flexibility and adaptability, focusing on what will best align with you, the client. But, of note, I do so very casually, honestly, conversationally, and course, hilariously (the latter, though subjective, has been confirmed. By me.) . Opening yourself up to therapy can be intimidating! A bit scary! But there's no requirement stating you must dread it. Through my views on mental health, self help, and all kinds of therapy - combined with, well, my personality - it seems that I've become adept at a sort of "stealth therapy." Admittedly self-defined, I'd best explain this by saying that sessions are conversational, instead of a "traditional" therapist-role to client-role back and forth. Just kidding. But, I approach therapy in a way I . I don't speak in riddles, and I won't pretend that I know you better than you know you. I listen, I hear your words -- your input has value and I will never dismiss you or your concerns.

I am a licensed mental health counselor based in Florida. I bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to my work. I employ a collaborative approach that is infused with compassion and, when appropriate, a sprinkling of humor. I believe that therapy is a journey, and I am committed to walking alongside my clients as they work toward their goals. I do have a 15-minute expectation for session arrival. Once 15 minutes has passed and a client has not showed up or messaged me, the appointment is canceled and a no-show fee is charged.

I would describe myself as a goofy and radically empathetic therapist that struggles with severe ADHD and also anxiety. Not to mention the grief! I am big on being vulnerable myself. We must lead by example. I also am a strong believer in the power of connection. If you cannot connect with your therapist, research says that therapy is not likely to be effective. I prioritize the therapeutic relationship above all else. That is my foundation. That means I pride myself on not being a robot. I cannot believe I have to say this, but many students in therapy have told me that they have had robotic therapist. That is not me. I believe the most powerful therapeutic techniques are empathy and unconditional love, and those are the values I do my best to display consistently. I currently provide individual counseling to students at Miami Dade College and I have found that I really enjoy working with college students that recently graduated from high school. I find that the world treats them cruelly at such an overwhelming time of their lives and they deserve unconditional love, not tough love.
