New to Grow
I’m Diana Ries, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 20 years of experience in counseling and healthcare. I offer a compassionate, direct, and results-focused approach that helps clients get to the root of emotional and relational struggles. My goal is to create a safe, welcoming space, provide practical tools, and help clients leave with clarity, confidence, and hope in healing.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Your first session with me is focused on creating a safe, welcoming space where you feel comfortable sharing at your own pace. We will talk about what brought you in, identify what you’re struggling with, and begin making sense of it together. You’ll leave with practical tools you can start using right away, and most importantly, a sense of hope that healing and change are possible.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
What sets my approach apart is my ability to get to the root of what’s really driving emotional pain and stuck patterns. Many clients tell me they’ve been in counseling for years but never fully understood why they struggle the way they do until now. I offer a direct yet compassionate approach that helps clients connect the dots, gain clarity, and experience real change. With hundreds of positive client outcomes, my work is focused on practical insight, emotional safety, and lasting transformation.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who feels emotionally overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected and is ready to better understand themselves and their patterns. They may be struggling with anxiety, depression, shame, or relationship challenges and are open to doing the inner work needed for meaningful change.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify unhelpful thought patterns, challenge distorted beliefs, and develop practical coping skills that lead to lasting emotional and behavioral change. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in real-life application.
Christian Counseling
I integrate Christian counseling by incorporating biblical principles, prayer (when desired), and faith-based reflection alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches. This allows clients to address emotional and relational concerns while strengthening their relationship with God.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions, clarify personal values, and commit to meaningful actions that support long-term well-being.
Couples Counseling
I provide couples counseling to help partners improve communication, increase emotional awareness, and develop healthier patterns of interaction. My work focuses on rebuilding trust, strengthening connection, and fostering mutual understanding.
Group Therapy
I facilitate group therapy to provide a supportive, structured environment where individuals can gain insight, build coping skills, and experience connection through shared understanding. Groups focus on emotional awareness, personal growth, and practical tools for change.
