Congratulations on taking this important step toward prioritizing your mental well-being! My name is Melissa Billings, and I am fully and independently licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in Florida, Minnesota, Utah, Washington State, and Wisconsin. I am here to support you using evidence-based approaches, including Person-Centered Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, among others. I provide a safe, affirming space where everyone is welcome, including individuals of all ethnicities, biological sexes, sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.
In all of our sessions, you’ll find a nonjudgmental atmosphere of trust and respect, where your voice is heard. I am committed to walking alongside you, offering unwavering support and guidance every step of the way. Remember, you are not alone on this journey. I look forward to the privilege of accompanying you on this path toward hope and healing.
You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone. The therapeutic process is a collaborative effort between client and therapist. With empathy and understanding, we’ll work together to build resilience, nurture self-compassion, and empower you to thrive. I look forward to walking with you on this path toward healing, self-acceptance, and fulfillment.
I have helped clients ages 13-60, both individuals and couples, with anxiety, self-esteem, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or personal growth. Our work together will be a collaborative journey. We’ll explore your emotions and thoughts to address what’s holding you back and guide you toward a more fulfilling life. All you need to bring to sessions is a desire and willingness for change.
I use CBT to CBT help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress or behavioral issues. I work collaboratively with clients to replace these thoughts with more balanced, realistic ones and to develop practical coping strategies.
I use this approach focuses on identifying and amplifying your inherent strengths, skills, and resources rather than focusing solely on problems or deficits. I help clients recognize their past successes, resilience, and values, and use those as a foundation for setting goals and overcoming current challenges to promote empowerment, confidence, and a more hopeful outlook.
I use Compassion Focused therapy to help clients who struggle with shame, self-criticism, or trauma develop a more kind and accepting inner voice. CFT integrates elements of CBT and mindfulness to build emotional regulation and self-soothing skills. My job is guide clients in practicing compassion for themselves and others to reduce inner conflict and distress.
I utilize Person-centered therapy to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel deeply heard and accepted. I do this using empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuineness, allowing the client to explore their emotions and experiences freely. Person-centered therapy believes that change is facilitated through the therapeutic relationship, with the belief that clients have the internal resources to grow and heal.
I use Motivational Interviewing techniques such as open-ended questions, reflective listening, and affirmations to help clients clarify their values and explore their own motivations. The approach is non-confrontational and empowers clients to take ownership of their change process by highlighting their strengths and capacity for choice.
