Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Florida. I am originally from Philadelphia , PA, so I have come to enjoy Florida’s climate. I came to Florida via the military. I am retired military and after serving for twenty-four years, I felt compelled to redirect my life toward caring for others in a more personal and meaningful way. I decided that clinical therapy would best tie into my natural and learned abilities as well as my desire to help people. I earned my Master of Social Work from the University Of Southern California with a primary focus in Children, Youth, and Families. I chose this focus because I believe every aspect of the family is important from the individual to the couple and family with children, and in many cases, the extended family. I am EMDR trained. My name is Miguel Lopez, a Hispanic male (He/Him/His) and U.S. Army combat veteran who brings a unique perspective to my work as a therapist. Fluent in Spanish and passionate about guiding people through life’s challenges, I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Walden University, a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University, and an Associate’s in Criminal Justice from Pikes Peak State College. With over a decade of experience as a caseworker, substance abuse counselor, and therapist, I’ve had the privilege of working with diverse clients facing real-life struggles and in need of daily support.
Life can be tough, and we all face difficult moments—whether it’s a breakup, divorce, grief, the loss of a loved one or pet, or even a job loss. In these times, having an unbiased person to offer support can make a world of difference. I see trauma as an unexpected part of life that is often hard to process, but with the right help, it can be managed and overcome healthily. I’ve personally experienced more than my share of trauma, grief, loss, sadness, depression, and substance use, and I sought help to work through them.
My approach to therapy is centered on helping people in the best way possible, always with an open mind. I often use Maslow’s hierarchy of needs as a guide, because I believe mental health is hard to prioritize when physical needs aren’t met, or issues like homelessness or substance abuse are present. I enjoy working with clients from age 5 to older adults who face Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, PTSD, Mood Disorders, Personality Disorders, and other mental health or substance use challenges. It’s easy to fight battles alone and suffer in silence, but you don’t have to anymore—together, we can work toward healing and a better future.
I believe healing begins with understanding. Many of the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that bring people to therapy are not signs of weakness or failure—they are often adaptations that developed in response to difficult experiences, stress, or adversity. While these patterns may have helped you cope or protect yourself at one point in your life, they can sometimes create challenges in relationships, work, and overall well-being.
My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and collaborative. I strive to create a space where clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to explore their experiences without judgment. Together, we will work to understand not only what is happening in your life, but also why certain patterns may have developed and whether they continue to serve you today.
Earlier experiences in my own life taught me that adversity can shape the way we view ourselves, others, and the world around us. Through these experiences, I developed a deep appreciation for how the mind and nervous system adapt to help us navigate challenges. The mind is designed to prioritize safety and survival, and many of the symptoms people experience are understandable responses to difficult circumstances rather than character flaws. While these adaptations may have been necessary at one point, healing often involves learning new ways of responding that better support the life you want to build.
I work with individuals experiencing trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to help clients increase self-awareness, build resilience, strengthen boundaries, and develop practical tools for lasting change. Together, we can help you better understand yourself, reconnect with your strengths, and move forward with greater confidence, flexibility, and self-compassion.
Hola! I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than a decade of experience in mental health, behavioral health, and non-profit work. I grew up in Los Angeles, completed my Master of Social Work at Fordham University in the Bronx, and now call Ocala, Florida home.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals and families across the lifespan, each with their own unique stories and needs. My work is guided by an integrative approach, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic methods to find what fits best for you. I’ve worked extensively with family systems, intergenerational trauma, parents and children facing behavioral challenges, neurodivergent individuals, women navigating life transitions, and people seeking to better understand themselves and the patterns that may be causing distress, mood difficulties, anxiety, or OCD.
Some of my specialties include helping young adults transition into life after high school, supporting parents and partners as they navigate family life, and walking alongside Latina women who are balancing relationships, cultural expectations, independence, and self-care.
I believe deeply that every person’s journey is unique. That’s why I focus on meeting you exactly where you are, empowering you to uncover strengths, solutions, and coping strategies that work for your life. While I am trained in CBT and DBT, I see these as tools within a broader, collaborative process. At the heart of my practice is client-centered care — because there is no single path to healing that fits everyone. Together, we’ll create a treatment plan that honors your voice, builds on your resilience, and empowers you to move toward the life you want to live.

Welcome! I'm LaVon
You've taken the first step towards bettering your mental health because, let's be honest - starting therapy can be empowering, confusing, or scary, all at the same time. Starting therapy can feel exciting, confusing, or even a little scary, sometimes all at once. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe exploring what's weighing on you, whether that's trauma, anxiety, depression, or just needing room to reconnect with yourself. I strive to create a safe and welcoming environment that allows clients to explore obstacles with concerns related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and/or self-care. If you're carrying something from your past, whether from childhood or adulthood, I want to help you unpack it in a space that's judgment-free and centered on you. Counseling can foster personal development in whatever way you may be seeking and help build the life you so deeply deserve. If that's what you're looking for, I'm here when you're ready to share.
I became a therapist after experiencing a season in my own life when I struggled to find a provider I could truly connect with. That experience shaped the way I practice today. I understand that beginning therapy can feel vulnerable, unfamiliar, or even intimidating, especially when you are accustomed to being the person who holds everything together.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine connection. I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, relationship concerns, life transitions, career dissatisfaction, identity, intimacy, and the emotional weight of constantly showing up for others. I am especially passionate about helping people who appear capable and accomplished on the outside but may feel overwhelmed, disconnected, uncertain, or exhausted underneath it all.
Therapy with me is a space to slow down, become curious about yourself, and understand the patterns, experiences, and expectations that have shaped how you move through the world. Together, we work toward greater self-awareness, healthier relationships, stronger boundaries, emotional freedom, and a life that feels more aligned with who you are becoming—not simply who you have had to be.

Since childhood and into my professional career, I have always held one thing above all—helping people navigate difficult circumstances and situations, finding solutions that allow the average person to live with greater purpose and fulfillment. This quest to change lives led me into the counseling field. My treatment approach is holistic, attending to your mental and emotional well-being. I also offer marital and couples counseling, as well as Christian counseling. I believe it’s not enough to treat the body if the mind remains off-balance. My treatment regimen is holistic—attending to your mental, and emotional well-being. I can also be of service if you are seeking marital and/or couples counseling and Christian counseling.
Hello, my name is Katrina and I look forward to learning about your healing journey. Before becoming a clinical mental health counselor, I worked as both an elementary school teacher and school administrator in the U.S., Italy, and China. These roles introduced me to the impact our home environments and personal relationships have on our holistic health and on the decisions we say 'Yes' or 'No' to.
I transitioned into clinical mental health counseling while living in Shanghai with my family. This experience offered me the opportunity to work with adolescents, adults, and couples from six continents and to learn how, despite cultural and linguistic differences, we all seek meaning, purpose, and acceptance in our lives. In addition, it provided me with the unexpected opportunity to learn how to offer crisis counseling online and in-person to those living under COVID lockdown and quarantine conditions, an experience that prepared me to participate in on-the-ground crisis counseling services in the aftermath of Hurricane Ian in SW Florida.
I enjoy offering others a space for conversations that can spark insight into what we want from therapy and what we are ready to commit to in this moment. Sometimes we come to therapy ready to overhaul our lives. Other times, we need verbal processing that allows us to grieve our losses, acknowledge our regrets without blame, talk about trauma in a safe way, and receive validation for what we are looking forward to. In this environment, I hope to collaborate with you in a meaningful way that prepares you for your next stage of life- or perhaps helps you survive the stage you are currently in.
