LMFT, 25 years of experience
New to Grow
I have been in practice for over 25 years with a PhD and an MS degree as a Florida Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I taught at St. Thomas University in Miami as an adjunct professor for several years. I have worked in Mental Health facilities, and I practiced as a sole provider for over 20 years. I use an eclectic approach with solution-focused, cognitive behavioral and experiential modalities. I work with children (over 10 years old), adolescents, and adults. I assist clients with coping skills and improving their communication with others.
Background history, past experiences, family dynamics, and wanting to know what goals they have in mind for this therapeutic relationship.
I believe in direct communication and asking thought provoking questions. I engage with a nonjudgmental approach and explore feelings and thoughts relating to the problems that are being discussed.
I have helped clients who have dealt with depression, anxiety, stress, and unexpected changes in life. I have worked with individuals, couples, and families dealing with communication issues, coping skills, stress, and loss/ grief. The approach I take with clients is collaborative and solution-focused with goals.
I use different modalities depending on the situation. I often use solution focused modalities along with cognitive behavioral and experiential approaches
