I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Certified Master's Level Addiction Professional ( MCAP) with 8 years of experience. I received my Bachelor of Science (BS) in General Psychology and my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling at Nova Southeastern University. I help adults who are struggling with trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, borderline personality disorder, narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety, and immigration/acculturation problems.

I'm a daughter, wife, mother and entrepreneur. I have two young children and a devoted husband of 14 years. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 23 years post masters experience working in a variety of treatment settings or levels of care from inpatient psychiatric hospitals to employee assistance programs. I have also worked with a variety of clients spanning the entire life spectrum and with a variety of issues.

I am a fully licensed clinician in Florida who has dedicated my career to helping my clients experience an authentic and fulfilling life. I enjoy getting to know my clients and being an added support to their journey. I have worked with active duty military and their families, adolescents and teens in the school system, incarcerated individuals and helped reintegrate back into civilian life, and now, where I work in private practice with families looking to reconnect with their spouses, children and on an individual basis as well. This at times takes a deeper look at how to work through emotions that cause barriers to our success. I help clients connect with their inner thoughts and emotions to communicate more effectively.

I am caring, compassionate, and a very good listener. I am a Christian, wife of a Veteran, mother, and grandmother. My heritage is Caribbean-American. I grew up in South Florida with four sisters and two brothers. I was very independent at a very young age and willing to help out wherever. I am a musician starting with piano in elementary school, then clarinet in middle school, and bass clarinet and bassoon in high school. I love music and find it beneficial in every aspect of life. I decided to grow my family before pursuing a career. I decided to pursue a career in the mental health field because of a family member being diagnosed with a severe mental health disorder. I earned my AA in Psychology, then a dual degree in Psychology and Behavioral Science. After my undergrad, I went on to receive my master's in social work. I have worked with Veterans, homeless, hospice, young adults, children, elders, couples and individuals with severe mental health diagnoses. In my pursuit to help my family member, I became even more passionate about mental health and reducing the negative stigma attached to it. This passion I share with everyone I encounter.

I have worked as a counselor in Florida since 1983 and have been a Licensed Mental Health Counselor since 1988. I have worked in numerous inpatient and outpatient settings, gaining experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups. I am confident I can help you with anxiety, depression, substance use, anger, ADHD, and other concerns. In addition to counseling, I love spending quiet time in nature (woods, beach, mountains), visiting art museums and galleries, and getting some exercise. For me, these are quiet episodes of escape from the challenges of life. I also love live music, but not because it's quiet.

Often this is because in the moment those strategies appear to be the only sensible choice, even when they aren’t.
