People often come to therapy carrying emotional pain, life stressors, or patterns they’ve been struggling with for a long time. I work with individuals from diverse and multicultural backgrounds who are navigating challenges related to mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. My approach is person-centered and collaborative, rooted in the belief that you are the expert of your own life and experiences. I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered to grow. Drawing from my experience in both outpatient and residential treatment settings, I focus on building a strong therapeutic relationship that fosters trust, insight, healing, and meaningful change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we’ll focus on understanding what’s bringing you to therapy and what support would feel most helpful to you right now. I’ll ask questions about your current challenges, personal history, coping strategies, and the goals you’d like to work toward. My role is to provide a space where you can speak openly without fear of judgment or pressure. We’ll begin identifying patterns, stressors, or experiences that may be impacting your emotional well-being, while also discussing practical tools and approaches that can support progress between sessions. The first session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share any concerns about therapy, and begin building a foundation for meaningful growth and change.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to create a supportive and grounded environment where clients feel heard, respected, and understood. I approach therapy with empathy, consistency, authenticity, and patience, helping clients feel comfortable being open and honest without fear of judgment. I am attentive, dependable, and collaborative in my work, and I strive to meet clients where they are while encouraging meaningful progress at a pace that feels manageable and realistic. My multicultural perspective allows me to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds while remaining culturally responsive and mindful of each client’s unique experiences and values. In sessions, I focus on helping clients strengthen self-awareness, develop practical coping skills, improve emotional regulation, and build healthier patterns that support long-term growth, resilience, and overall well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support clients who are navigating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma-related experiences, emotional regulation challenges, and anger management concerns. I regularly work with individuals experiencing depression, generalized anxiety, panic symptoms, and difficulty managing overwhelming thoughts and emotions, using CBT-based strategies to help identify and reframe unhelpful thinking patterns. I also provide trauma-informed care for individuals working through past experiences that continue to impact their present-day functioning, offering a supportive space to process healing at a manageable pace. In addition, I offer affirming and inclusive support for individuals within the LGBTQ+ community who may be exploring identity, experiencing discrimination, or navigating life transitions. My goal is to provide a safe, respectful space where clients can strengthen self-acceptance, build resilience, and feel more grounded in who they are. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person, with a focus on developing practical skills to manage emotions, reduce stress, and improve overall quality of life and long-term well-being.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. This approach is practical and goal-oriented, focusing on identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with more balanced and helpful perspectives. Together, we work on developing coping strategies that support emotional regulation, reduce distress, and encourage healthier behavioral responses in day-to-day life. CBT can be especially helpful for concerns such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and substance use, as it provides structured tools that clients can continue using outside of sessions.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice, I also draw from a person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard. I believe clients are the experts of their own lived experiences, and I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they feel safe to explore their thoughts and emotions at their own pace. This approach prioritizes the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for growth and healing. By fostering trust, respect, and genuine connection, clients are able to deepen self-awareness, feel more empowered, and move toward meaningful personal change.
