Hi, I'm Ricardo. I'm a Hispanic man who's done my own work in therapy to figure out who I am and who I want to be—which is a big part of why I do this work today.
I went into counseling field because I kept seeing people who felt unheard or misunderstood by the people around them, often carrying more than anyone realized. That's especially true for a lot of men and teenage boys I've worked with—individuals who feel like they're supposed to be strong, keep things to themselves, or handle things alone, but who rarely have a space to actually talk about what's underneath that. I grew up seeing some of those same pressures and unhealthy patterns around what it means to "be a man," and part of my work now is helping men and boys move away from those roles and into a healthier, more grounded version of who they are—as partners, providers, sons, and people.
I especially enjoy working with teenage boys who are figuring out who they are, often at an age when it's hard to talk to the adults around them about what's really going on. I try to meet them where they are—not lecturing, not judging—so they actually want to keep showing up and talking.
For parents: if your son is pulling away, shutting down, or you're just not sure how to reach him right now, that's exactly the kind of thing we can work through together.
Outside of the therapy room, I'm endlessly curious—I love traveling, learning about different cultures, sports, and music (I play a bit of guitar). I think that mix of curiosity, care, and having done some of my own work is a lot of what I bring into the room with clients.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with my PhD in Marriage and Family Therapy in Florida. I received my Masters and PhD at Nova Southeastern University and I have over 25 years experience in working in the mental health and substance abuse fields. My strengths as a clinician are to help individuals and families to gain awareness as to what they are going through and how to make life long positive choices to gain a better sense of themselves.
I'm a licensed mental health counselor with a genuine passion for helping people improve their overall mental health and well-being. I help individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, and other difficult life challenges.
I understand that reaching out isn't always easy, and beginning therapy can feel like a deeply personal decision. My approach is compassionate, straightforward, and focused on making therapy a comfortable and meaningful experience. You'll find a welcoming, judgment-free environment where your concerns are taken seriously, your time is valued, and you can feel genuinely heard and understood.
Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating a difficult time, or simply looking for more balance in your life, I offer both in-person and remote therapy, giving you the flexibility to choose the setting that works best for you while we focus on what matters most in your life.

I bring warmth and care into the room, along with a sense of humor when it’s helpful, because healing doesn’t always have to feel heavy to be meaningful.
I’m also solution-focused and collaborative. That means we’ll spend time understanding what’s going on, but we won’t get stuck there. We’ll work together to identify practical tools, coping strategies, and small, realistic steps that can help you feel better in your day-to-day life.
