It would be my pleasure to work with you! My name is Kim Sylla and I have been interested in the field of social services since childhood when I enthusiastically listened to the life stories of those around me including friends, neighbors and extended relatives. This interest grew with with my first therapist volunteer experience -- at the age of 20 -- with individuals who had substance use and mental health disorders. Since then I have had a wide array of additional volunteer and work experiences with adults and adolescents undergoing various life challenges at work, school, home and in the larger community. My varied experience, training and education prepared me to use an integrative therapeutic approach that draws on cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, dialectical behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and ecological systems theory.

Do you find yourself constantly worrying or overthinking every possible outcome? Do you feel like you must prepare for the worst just to feel in control? Maybe you struggle with uncertainty, fear making the wrong decision, or feel like everything has to be done perfectly. Anxiety can leave you feeling restless, exhausted, and stuck in patterns that affect your sleep, your relationships, and your peace of mind. Life transitions often bring us into what can feel like “stormy waters.” As Viktor Frankl wrote, “When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
I specialize in helping those suffering from anxiety, including health care professionals and veterans. You don't have to continue suffering. As a seasoned therapist, I can help you feel empowered to stop the cycle of worry and anxiety, find your sense of purpose, and reclaim your life.
The good news is that we've all gone through seasons of our lives when we feel this way. The first step is to reach out to someone for help. My approach is straightforward: together we will identify your goals, establish a problem-solving treatment plan, and go from there. If something is telling you it's time to begin your journey; give me a call.

I’m Evamary Largaespada, a Licensed Professional Counselor supporting children, parents, and adults in creating meaningful, lasting change in their lives. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have been practicing for over 18 years. In my clinical opinion, all therapeutic approaches come from a place of strength, validation and compassion. In my work, I focus on the concerns you feel comfortable sharing while validating your experiences, creating a compassionate and safe space which allows you to effect change and move past pain, loss, trauma and regret. I aim to teach you that the present moment is truly the gift we have, even if it doesn't always feel that way. Our past is behind us, it can neither hurt us any longer nor be changed. We do not know the future, it is not yet visible. Attempting to prepare for what is to come or holding tight to what is no more, takes us away from the present, the moments we have right now, preventing us from embracing the life we dream of. Old messages, hurts and grief often keep us stuck, holding onto a past that will always be a part of who we are, but in no way defines us. We are not "what" we have endured, rather it is the "what" which forged our strengths, awareness and resilience. The story we create is not written by anyone other than ourselves. The truth in life is that we are all good as we are, right now, in this moment. And the beauty in life is that we can grow to be better, no matter what we may have been told, witnessed or lived. You matter, your journey matters, your recovery is what you decide, what you want and I am proud to be a partner to you in this. Even if you select another therapist, remember you are worth it, always.
