I became a therapist in 2019 to give back some of the hope that was given to me as I embarked on my own mental health journey. I remember thinking to myself, “Who am I?”, and “Am I good enough?”. I remember, and still know how that style of thinking can be overpowering, and become what I have learned to call “sticky thoughts”. These thoughts can lead to anxiety, depression, irritability, and can be the root cause of unhelpful coping skills and habits. Once we get into that negative cycle, it can feel impossible to get out. This occurred for many years, and consumed my entire being until I had support from family, therapists, sports coaches, and friends, and reached out for help.
