LMHC, 6 years of experience
*I do not work with adults over the age of 26. I ONLY work with children, teens, and young adults up to age 26* Hi there, I’m Stephanie! Do you feel stuck in your current life or unable to move forward with what’s been weighing on you recently? Is taking a chance difficult and challenging? I aim to meet you where you’re at in your life and help you overcome the struggles and hardships. I help provide you with the tools to move beyond the anxiety, depression, family issues, academic challenges or substance use issues you might be facing. I have extensive experience empowering people to meet their full potential. I’m not a one size fits all therapist and will pull from a variety of different techniques and modalities to help you become a version of yourself. I work with people up to age 26 - Grow therapy does not separate young adults/adults in the search field. Please be mindful of this when booking an appointment!
In our first session, we will really work to get to know you and what brings you to treatment. The intake session will expand on your initial paperwork and help us identify where we start in therapy. At end of the first session, we'll discuss if we're good a fit to work together, establish your treatment plan and get your scheduled for your first follow-up session. You'll also have the chance to ask any questions that may come up during the intake as well.
I’ve worked closely with children, teens and young adults for the past 6 years and feel that this area is my biggest strength. I also specialize in addictions counseling and help those overcome the challenges associated with that. I pull from many different treatment modalities, but mostly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy to help you gain a better understanding of each step in overcoming your presenting stressors, triggers and problems.
I work with teens and young adults (up to age 26) who are struggling with a variety of concerns. I also specialize in addictions counseling within those age populations as well. I have a certification in treating anxiety disorders and have completed a number of other continuing education courses to expand my therapeutic knowledge. Those courses include areas such as depression, academic stress, suicidal thoughts/dangerous behaviors, family systems and stressors, trauma and so much more.
I use CBT most often as a way to meet you where you are at with your therapy. We will explore the thoughts, feelings and behaviors of your presenting problems to help you move forward.
Finding a solution to the ongoing stressors and struggles in your life is a key goal of treatment with me. Through the use of Solution-Focused therapy, we will work together to come up with ways to overcome various things on your plate each session. Sometimes these solutions are quicker fixes, while others take a longer duration of time.
I aim to meet you where you're at. With person-centered therapy, we will explore you as a person and work to overcome your challenges.
I often utilize motivational interviewing as a way to collaborate and converse on finding your own reasons and hopes/desires for change. This techniques requires open dialogue, reflective listening and empowering you as the client to turn towards change.
