Have you experienced recent or past trauma that you have tried to avoid thinking about but keeps replaying in your mind? Is your child having issues managing his emotions and not sure how to help them? Having difficulties sharing how you feel with others? Hi, I'm Jason Markel, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 9 years of experience helping adults navigate anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, trauma, and struggles with self-worth.
Many of the people I work with have spent years taking care of others, second-guessing themselves, or trying to meet expectations that don't truly fit who they are. They often feel exhausted, disconnected, or stuck repeating patterns that no longer serve them. Therapy can be a place to reconnect with yourself, understand what's holding you back, and begin creating a life that feels more authentic and fulfilling.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine human connection. I believe lasting change happens when people feel safe enough to explore difficult experiences without judgment. Together, we'll work to build self-trust, strengthen boundaries, improve relationships, and help you move toward the life you want rather than the life you feel obligated to live.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, identity questions, or major life transitions, my goal is to help you feel more confident, connected, and empowered in your daily life.

Congratulations for taking the step to seek counseling. The world we live in is increasingly complex, and we can find ourselves feeling disconnected, stressed, and uncertain about what direction to take. How do we identify solutions for our life’s challenges? How do we let go of stress and sleep at night? As a therapist, I have counseled with individuals and families for over ten years and have found that problem-solving does not have to be stressful, and that we can work through our toughest issues.
It is common to believe that people in our relationships, or circumstances in our lives cause us to feel the way we do. But it is our thinking, and the way we relate to people and circumstances, that create our feelings and emotions. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps us observe what we are feeling and identify the thoughts that create our feelings. With increased self-awareness, we determine which of our thoughts and perceptions are distorted and unhelpful. As our thinking becomes more realistic, we feel better.
There are several therapy methods that are effective in creating positive change, including Narrative Therapy, Goal Setting, Visioning for Personal Growth, and Mindfulness to promote focus and attention. Let’s engage in a conversation to explore your individual needs, and how best to meet them.

As a licensed social worker, I am extensively trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. Additionally, I utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to support clients dealing with depression and anxiety, ensuring that my therapeutic interventions are both effective and adaptable to individual needs.
I am passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those I serve. My goal is to help clients navigate life's challenges, foster personal growth, and promote well-being through compassionate and ethical social work practice.
Hi, I'm Dr. Alysha! Are you ready to Empower your Mental Health?
By creating a safe place for processing and expression, I support persons on their unique healing journey to strengthen authenticity and resiliency. My overall approach uses psychodynamic talk therapy, offering space to those wanting to explore new perspectives, reframes, and change.
When we internalize or suppress our emotions and experiences of adversity, we may be faced with lasting emotional trauma that impacts our entire well-being. However there is power in validation and relatability and that is why I utilize a client-centered, strengths-based method, with consideration for relational, intersectional, and social justice contexts. I don’t consider myself an advice giver, but instead, I will collaborate with you to recognize your choices and help you make the best one for yourself.
My objective is for you to feel empowered by reducing emotional burdens, developing coping strategies, identifying resources, and enhancing your strengths. You will be treated with respectful, objective, non-biased assistance. I believe that with the right amount of support, guidance, and compassion, our capabilities are endless.

Hello! I am delighted that you have considered me to be your new therapist. Over several years, I have found a special place in therapeutic services and have been amazed in how certain treatment methods or techniques significantly help clients and their families find healing. Whether that is wanting to feel better about a decision needing to be made, overcoming heavy feelings from a traumatic event or accepting how you were uniquely designed and that your existence matters. I believe that everyone deserves to have professional support at any given moment in their lives and truly honor your commitment to yourself by seeking that support here and now.

I am deeply committed to helping clients heal emotionally, build resilience, and reconnect with their sense of worth and purpose. My passion for this work is rooted in lived experience. These experiences shaped both who I am and how I show up as a therapist—with empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a deep respect for each client’s journey. I believe healing happens when people feel safe, understood, and empowered. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in helping clients move from feeling overwhelmed or stuck toward clarity, emotional balance, and meaningful personal growth.

Hi there, and welcome!
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based just outside of Portland, Oregon, and I’m licensed to work with clients in Oregon, Washington, and California. I have been practicing for over 18 years and also work full time as a manager in a large healthcare organization, where I support teams and programs focused on helping people grow and thrive.
As a therapist, I love helping people get clear on what matters most to them- what they want life to look and feel like, and then walking alongside them as they take steps toward those goals. My style is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I believe therapy works best when it feels like a partnership, where we’re exploring together what helps you feel more grounded, capable, and connected.
A quick note: My practice focuses on working with individuals. If you’re looking for therapy for you and your partner together, I encourage finding a therapist who specializes in couples work to ensure you get the most out of that experience.
Hello! I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) based in sunny southern California, living with my partner, of many years, John, and our three cats, three dogs, and tortoise, who by the way, is currently hibernating...and don't we all wish we could do that at times? I have many years of experience working with individuals, and with a varied range of issues including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and relationship challenges. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings with many ethnic populations. My style is down-to-earth, relatable, at times, direct, and always with a touch of humor. I love what I do and consider it an honor to help you resolve whatever it might be that is holding you back. I look forward to working with you! By the way, a former client recently said: "I am so grateful to have worked with you, you are truly gifted, and I have learned so much!"
Thank you for taking the time to review my brief profile. I hold a Doctorate in Social Work, complemented by more than 25 years of experience in healthcare and mental wellness. I have worked with many clients dealing with end-of-life, healing from grief and loss issues, depression, cultural conflicts, intergenerational and relationship stressors, work/life balance issues, and other life stressors that can potentially affect the daily living of a person.
Honoring what we need is not selfish - it is an essential part of caring for ourselves, and creating a life where we can heal, grow, and thrive. I feel truly humbled and honored to meet each client who chooses me as their therapist. I also believe that a little humor can go a long way - it can bring lightness to difficult moments, strengthen connection, and remind us that healing doesn't always have to feel so heavy.
I am a compassionate, client-centered therapist who focuses on creating a safe, supportive space where people can explore their experiences and work toward meaningful change. My approach blends evidence-based practices with genuine connection to help clients build insight, resilience, and confidence. My style is collaborative and empathetic, communicating in a way that feels grounding and approachable. This combination makes clients feel both heard and guided.
My therapeutic style is warm and compassionate, as well as active and engaged. I continue to be inspired by the strength and resilience of my clients. Through a supportive and trusting therapeutic relationship, we will work together to promote insight into your current struggles, process your thoughts and emotions, and help you heal from past experiences.
I value being authentic with my clients. It’s important to me that you are able to sense that what I’m saying is truly how I feel. I want to know all of you. This means not only hearing about what brought you into my office, but also about the aspects of your life that bring you joy. Humor frequently appears in my sessions. The work in therapy can be challenging, but I believe it’s also important to be able to laugh with my clients, too.
I hold a doctoral degree from the clinical Psy.D. program at William James College, a Master’s of Education degree in Human Sexuality from Widener University, as well as a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University. I have received training and supervision from specialists in addiction treatment. I also have significant experience working with women from diverse cultural backgrounds who identify as members of the LGBTQ community.
