I approach our first session with wanting to know what prompted you to book the session. This is because people usually book a therapy session with an issue in mind, or with a problem to solve. I assure you that if you are motivated to change your mindset and ready to work on yourself, that you will be able to feel more peaceful and calm with just one session, and you will leave knowing that you will be able to solve what is going on.
We tend to be harsh and critical of ourselves thinking that will promote change when that only causes us to procrastinate and feel depression and anxiety. To address this I offer you my book endorsed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama on self-forgiveness- find it on Amazon and in Barnes & Noble, "The Chiron Effect: Healing Our Core Wounds through Astrology, Empathy, and Self-Forgiveness."
I offer you my podcast- "All Things Therapy," which can be found on iTunes and Spotify. It is a mental health and wellness-focused podcast with over 425 episodes related to mental health, fitness, and personal transformation for you to dig into. I intend that the show augments therapy and gives you a resource to look for topics you are facing in the show titles and then listen and apply what is offered and see how that changes things for you.
Crisis, trauma, loss, and suffering while difficult, can lead to the discovery of new capacities for healing and growth. During this time of uncertainty, now may be the ideal time to address these issues. Therapy is a transformative and collaborative process that can help.
I welcome working with individuals of all ages. I work from a strengths-based approach and use evidence-based models of therapy including -- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA), Psychodynamic Therapy, and solution-focused models – to address the challenges life presents us.
In addition to my work in private practice, I work in a forensic hospital setting for those afflicted with a severe mental illness. I have extensive training in counseling and am well qualified to treat a variety of patients and symptom profiles including, but not limited to individuals in crisis/suicidality, substance abuse, depression, and anxiety.

Hi, I’m Kory van Unen, LCSW. I am a licensed clinical social worker and UCLA MSW graduate, dedicated to helping adults cultivate insight, resilience, and genuine self-worth. My therapy style is collaborative and client-centered, rooted in evidence-based practice.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, mood changes, self-esteem struggles, and the complexities of modern life. Many of my clients come to me seeking relief from self-sabotage, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and chronic stress. If you feel overwhelmed by expectations or stuck in old patterns, I can support you in developing the tools and self-understanding to move forward.
My approach is both insight-oriented and practical. I draw from a range of therapies, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), humanistic, and trauma-informed modalities. Treatment is always adapted to your needs, strengths, and goals. I believe therapy should be a safe space where you can reflect honestly, explore difficult emotions, and find sustainable ways to create change.
Outside of sessions, you might find me reading, walking in nature, sipping matcha, or at the beach with my dogs.
Are you tired of the non-stop chatter in your head judging every move you make? Is the constant loop of negative thinking making you feel like you are not good enough? No matter how many times you try to talk yourself out of this—you just can't seem to shake it. You are doing all the things you’ve been told to do and yet something is missing. You feel alone. You feel misunderstood. You feel anxious. You turn to food, alcohol, Netflix, or whatever else that can make these feelings go away. You promise yourself that next week will be different. You will start the new diet or the new program, you will commit to being a new you.
What if there is another way? I work with women to get this cycle can end. There can be freedom from the despair caused by believing that you are not good enough. You want a deeper connection in your relationships. You want more joy in your life. You want less stress and worry. I can help you get there. There is a different path.

Hello! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), based in California. I received my MSSA in "Mental Health" from the Case Western Reserve University, and I have been practicing for the last eight years. I help clients who are struggling with stress, anxiety and/or depression, heal and become the best versions of themselves. I also have extensive experience in working with adults who are survivors of domestic violence (DV), intimate partner violence (IPT), and those who are suffering from symptoms of PTSD. I also enjoy working with families who may be experiencing triangulation and communication difficulties. My preferred clinical approach includes cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness meditation embedded in DBT, Narrative Therapy, and psycho-dynamic therapy. Finally, I view my clients from a holistic perspective so that we can understand what barriers may be restricting them from experiencing true happiness in life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to helping you learn how to cultivate the life you deserve and want. My work focuses on targeting ineffective behaviors, thinking patterns, and self-limiting beliefs that create daily barriers to life fulfillment. I believe in taking a collaborative approach towards helping clients reach their goals. I hold space for you to narrate your journey without fear or judgment. I welcome your invitation to walk beside you in letting go of the things and ideas that no longer serve you. You deserve the opportunity to cultivate a better you.
Psychotherapy relies heavily on the rapport between therapist and client, without it growth and trust cease to exist. I work towards understanding your needs and wants in a nonjudgmental safe, supportive, and empathetic environment. I believe mental health issues are a symptom of deeper, unresolved emotional issues and childhood wounds. I work with teenagers 13+ and adults. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy to help identify irrational thoughts and faulty thinking that are the main culprits behind anxiety and stress. I also utilize psychodynamic therapy to help uncover past issues, such as family dynamics and childhood issues. My full fee is $200 for individuals and $250 for couples, however I do work on a sliding scale as well.
Hello, I’m Danielle and I’m excited to meet you! I am a licensed clinical social worker, and have been honored to provide compassionate and person-centered care to individuals for over 15 years.
I would love to talk to you and find out how we can work together to find your wisest path. I like to think of therapy as walking a forest path together, where we get to look at who’s on this journey with you, turn over and examine what’s under the boulders in your way, and give your deepest self some air and light.
Feel free to book for a first session to see if I might be a good fit for you. I look forward to getting to know you!
Greetings,
Life can be confusing, relationships can be stressful, and the present can make you feel anxious or depressed. Sometimes a painful past can surface into the moment, especially when situations are difficult or when you are experiencing major change. During these periods your mood and thoughts can be affected in negative ways. When you are feeling alone, disconnected, or confused, talking things through can make all the difference.
I work with anyone struggling to find joy, peace, and fulfillment. I offer a safe, inviting space for you to share thoughts and feelings, to vent, to feel heard, and to reorient to meaning. Please allow me to assist you finding relief and clarity. I will meet you where you are at and welcome you. I address healing on multiple levels of the body-mind connection with a focus on the notion that caring about something or someone along with experiencing meaning can counterbalance the effects of hurt, a disturbing past, or a present stressful situation or transition.
I have more than 20 years of experience helping clients navigate major change and transition, gain closure, and create new beginnings. I apply interventions from a mind-body-being perspective and assess current life stressors to distinguish between situational mood and thought disturbances from those enduring and a consequence of previous hurt or trauma.
