As a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University, Los Angeles, I have 15 years of experience helping clients navigate complex emotions and enhance their relationships. I typically work with professionals seeking support in areas such as romantic partnerships, parenting, relationships with parents, or workplace dynamics. I specialize in holding space for the deep-thinkers and cycle-breakers, the individuals who have spent a lifetime looking inward and dismantling generational patterns, yet still feel the friction of a world demanding 'more' at the expense of 'being.' My approach combines a lifelong passion for psychology and therapeutic processes with a multicultural, spiritually grounded worldview. As a mother, a doctoral candidate, and a business owner, I don't just teach boundaries; I live them. I am a 'Keturah-sized' bridge in the wellness gap for those who have cycled through therapists searching for a peer who truly sees them. Together, we intentionally move past the '15 tasks by yesterday' mentality and into a strategic, soul-deep architecture of rest, healing, and expansion.

Do you feel stuck in some part of your life and want to feel more confident, at ease, and connected? I am here to help you to break through anxiety, symptoms of depression, personal and generational trauma, and other challenges you might be encountering that make it hard to be true to yourself or cause relationship issues. In therapy, we will work collaboratively to help you reach your goals. Sometimes this can look like developing coping skills to handle stress more easily so you can move forward, learning your limits and setting priorities to maintain strong boundaries, or becoming a great communicator so you can actively practice how to speak, listen, and be heard. Whatever you are struggling with, I will provide a safe, judgment-free space in which you can comfortably be yourself. I will guide you in finding harmony and fulfillment so that you can feel understood, find a sense of belonging, and have healthy relationships.

Hi, I'm Marina, Reaching out for therapy can be one of the hardest steps to take, and I know that many people come to their first session feeling nervous, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin. My goal is to create a space where you can exhale, feel accepted, and know you don't have to figure everything out alone. With over 18 years of experience as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I've had the privilege of helping people through anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, grief, and many of life's unexpected twists. Over the years, I've learned that no two people are alike, which is why I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Clients often tell me they appreciate that I am warm, easy to talk to, and genuinely invested in their growth. I won't just sit quietly and nod—I will listen carefully, ask thoughtful questions, offer honest feedback when it's helpful, and work alongside you to help you better understand yourself and create meaningful change.

I was born in the US, but I was raised in Mexico. I lived in Tijuana for 10 years when my parents decided to move us across the border to Chula Vista, California. As a first-generation Mexican-American, I experienced a duality of cultures. I was often judged for either being “not Mexican enough” OR “not American enough.” I also faced enormous pressure to be successful – to justify my parents’ having left their beloved country so my sibling and I could have a better life. This is one of many reasons I decided to follow this path: to help those who feel alone in their journey. That’s how I felt when acculturating to this country. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) at San Diego State University (SDSU). I was going to go directly into the workforce and eventually go back for my master’s, but an awesome professor challenged me to apply right away so I wouldn’t lose momentum. So, that’s what I did. I ended up getting my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Southern California. It took some time and courage to finish all my licensing requirements, but it was worth it! I’ve been licensed as a clinical social worker in California since 2019. I am certified in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Trauma-Focused CBT.

Hello. I am a licensed social worker in California. I began practicing in the mental health/behavioral health field in 2011. I originally was licensed in Maryland in 2015 but then returned to California in 2016. Since starting in the field, I have worked with individuals ranging in age from 4 years old to 75 years old; most experience working with individuals between the ages of 10 and 35. I have experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, depression, anxiety, parenting problems, and relationship issues. I am an ally of the LGBTQI community and can provide a safe, telehealth space for them. Unfortunately, at this time, I cannot accommodate individuals seeking letters for emotional support animals or those mandated by the court or legal system for therapy. With that said, my goal in being a counselor, is to assist my clients in meeting their identified treatment needs. I am flexible and willing to do whatever I need to do to assist you and help you in any way that I can. If when viewing my profile, you feel as though I am a good fit, but my schedule does not meet your scheduling needs, please feel free to send me a message as I may be able to fit you in at a different time. I work evenings and weekends.

My goal is to provide the highest level of care by customizing treatment and drawing from a myriad of evidence-based practice models. In doing so I am able to meet my clients where they are as we work together to improve their quality of life. That being said, I'm going to challenge you. You are in therapy for a reason. Improvements to your life will require actual changes. You can go forward at the pace that suits you, but you'll need to go forward and I'm here to help with that.

If you're in your 40s or 50s and feel like you no longer recognize yourself, you're not imagining it. Anxiety that seems to come out of nowhere, a shorter fuse, brain fog, poor sleep, low mood, and feeling like you've lost your spark are all common in perimenopause and menopause. Too often, women are told it's "just stress" or that they should push through. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 25 years of experience and a Certified Menopause Coach. I specialize in working with women in midlife who are navigating the emotional and mental health side of this transition, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD symptoms that often surface or intensify during these years. In our work together, you'll have a space where your experience is taken seriously. I'll help you understand what's happening, build practical tools for managing mood, stress, and focus, and reconnect with who you are and what you want from this next chapter. I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches and tailor them to you. Midlife can be more than something to get through. With the right support, it can be a time of clarity, confidence, and renewal. I'd be honored to help you thrive in it.

Hi, I’m Johanna! I’m a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), nationally certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I provide individual therapy for adults across California with support that is genuine, collaborative, and grounded in cultural awareness. As a Latina therapist, I’m especially passionate about supporting first-generation and BIPOC individuals navigating anxiety, intergenerational trauma, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in meaningful, real conversation, creating a space where you can reflect, heal, and grow. I primarily work with adults experiencing anxiety, trauma, or relationship challenges. My therapeutic style integrates mindfulness, CBT, and person-centered approaches, helping clients deepen self-awareness, strengthen emotional resilience, and build more fulfilling connections. I believe meaningful change begins when you feel truly seen, understood, and supported on your path to healing.
