If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're carrying the weight of everything on your own, you're not alone. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, depression, relationship stress, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a supportive, thoughtful space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and begin making changes that help you feel more confident in yourself and your relationships. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for ten years now. You will always know yourself better than I can or will. From a philosophical and theoretical standpoint. I am overwhelming more of an attachment theorist, and have been known to use existentialism from time to time to help make sense of something. I guess the question that remains though is; can a butterfly flap it's wings in Brazil and cause a tornado in Kentucky, or are we all simply just products of our childhood and mirrors of our parents traumas? The duality of life. Attachment Theory vs. Chaos Theory. Both have value. I digress. My goal is to provide a petridish in which you can explore your self. Safe. Contained. Yet completely in your control. The paradox being, you likely already have what you need. I'll sit with you while you find it. I can give you my clinical opinion, or diagnosis, and recommendations along the way as well if you'd like that. I can just sit and listen. I can play devils advocate. My job is to listen, empower, observe, and provide feedback when requested.

I believe that each one of us has the answers to our problems inside of us. However, sometimes we need someone on our journey to help us unlock those answers by asking the right questions---things you may not have considered, presenting proven strategies, and psychoeducation. Although, you will make strides with the energy and effort you give, the number one predictor that one will improve is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. I hope to provide a place of warmth, compassion, and acceptance in which you feel empowered and free to approach any concerns. I am here to help you along on your journey. I am a licensed mental health counselor in Arizona, Florida, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Utah. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with an Educational Specialist degree in Mental Health Counseling. I also earned a Master's of Art from Roosevelt University. I have experience working with youth and their families as well as adults. The theoretical framework that I usually draw from is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. I also apply Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing Techniques as needed. I address trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, interpersonal skills, self-esteem, anger, problem-solving, and decision-making. In conjunction with therapy, I believe that exercise, proper nutrition, and good sleep hygiene are an integral part of overcoming mental health concerns. Change, even positive change can be challenging and uncomfortable. I hope to provide the necessary support as a champion of change.

If you recently lost coverage or had an insurance change, I currently have openings and can discuss options. My mission is to empower individuals to navigate life’s challenges with resilience, clarity, and confidence. I take a holistic, client-centered approach rooted in the biopsychosocial model—addressing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and environment to support lasting well-being. Drawing from evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I tailor each treatment plan to meet the unique needs of the person in front of me. I am also actively pursuing certification in Mind-Body Medicine through the Center for Mind Body Medicine and frequently integrate these techniques—such as meditation, guided imagery, and breathwork—into sessions to support emotional balance and self-regulation. With extensive training in geriatric assessment, I have a deep passion for working with older adults, helping them maintain cognitive and emotional vitality in later life. As a certified clinical supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, I am also committed to mentoring and developing the next generation of compassionate, skilled social workers. Meet Mike Arieta, LICSW Hello and welcome. I’m Mike Arieta, a licensed clinical social worker with nearly three decades of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and teens through life’s most complex challenges. Since 1995, I’ve worked across diverse settings—from foster care and homelessness to adoption and refugee support—and have been practicing clinically since 2011. My therapeutic approach is body-based and trauma-informed. I believe our bodies often speak before our minds can make sense of what we’re feeling. This philosophy guides my work with clients navigating trauma, PTSD, and transitions that require deep emotional resilience. I integrate movement-based and somatic strategies to help clients reconnect with themselves and their communities. Currently, I’m completing my Doctor of Social Work degree at Tulane University, where my research focuses on trauma recovery and evidence-informed practices that foster healing. I also hold advanced training in adoption competence and provide support to foster youth, adoptive families, and caregivers navigating complex systems. Therapy, for me, is a collaborative journey. I’m honored to walk alongside my clients as they reclaim their stories, build strength, and move toward meaningful change. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my work—I look forward to connecting with you.

I use CBT, positive psychology, and a person-centered approach to help people understand their thoughts, regulate emotions, and respond more calmly to stress. Sessions focus on building trust, strengthening emotional awareness, and supporting individuals in finding their own voice while feeling respected, heard, and guided – not corrected or pushed. Over time, you’ll notice you become steadier, more confident, and clearer about what you want and need. Reactions soften, communication improves, and people feel better about their decisions. When you feel on top of things, you have space to grow and find your voice. There really is a better path.

My name is Romy Rodriguez and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I have worked with various populations with mental health and substance abuse struggles. I also provided Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to adolescents and their families who were living in homeless shelters and were in the court system. I have also worked with women with Post-Partum depression and struggling with substance abuse. Two of the modalities that I work with are Brainspotting and EMDR. Brainspotting focuses on identifying specific eye positions (“brainspots”) that connect to unprocessed material in the brain. By maintaining focused attention on these spots, clients are able to access, process, and resolve underlying issues at a deeper neurological level. This approach is especially effective for trauma, anxiety, and emotional regulation, allowing for profound healing in a safe, attuned, and client-centered space. I also specialize in EMDR. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy designed to help clients process and heal from trauma, distressing memories, and negative beliefs. As an EMDR-trained therapist, I guide clients through structured phases that use bilateral stimulation (such as eye movements) to help the brain reprocess stuck or overwhelming experiences. This allows painful memories to lose their intensity and supports the development of more adaptive, empowering beliefs. EMDR is highly effective for trauma, anxiety, and other emotional challenges, offering deep and lasting relief in a safe, supportive, and client-centered environment.
