Hi, I’m Sara and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I am passionate about helping and empowering individuals who are struggling with anxiety, burnout, and stress. From my own personal life experiences and working in the field for over 10 years, I know that asking for help can sometimes cause a lot of fear, guilt, or shame. I truly believe there is no shame in seeking help and that you owe yourself some time to focus on you.
During our first session I will gather your history and will get to know you. The first session is more about establishing rapport and we won't get too "deep" into anything at this point. My counseling approach is open and non-judgmental. I steer clear of the stereotypical stiff and clinical approach that counselors sometimes have. I love using humor in my sessions and really connecting with my clients.
My clients have said that I'm laid-back, open minded, compassionate, funny, and candid. These are strengths that help me establish good rapport with my clients. I want my clients to feel comfortable in counseling.
There is no "one size fits all" treatment method in counseling so I use an eclectic approach that is unique to your individual experiences. I use methods such as CBT, Mindfulness, Person-Centered, Holistic, Relaxation Techniques, & more to help clients learn to manage their anxiety and stress.
