Life is tough and we are living in traumatic times. We’re surrounded by problems that often have few solutions, and we’re forced into societal routines that conflict with our core needs and impact our health, happiness, & relationships. Despite these difficulties, I believe in your ability to heal, alchemize your discomfort, and exist in ways that are empowering and life-enhancing. As a healer/wellness worker, I’m here to help you do just that! My practice prioritizes and caters to the important, unique mental health needs of Black/Indigenous People of Color. Folks drawn to work with me are typically those whose BIPOC identities intersect with feminine, queer, & neurodiverse identities, as well as fellow healers, liberation workers, creatives, and sensitives who are looking to integrate cultural practices/values into their therapeutic experience.
During our time together, we will work on your individual goals, but we will also: •Share laughs & spend time connecting as people • Explore your needs, values, and beliefs from an anti-oppressive lens • Identify and tend to emotional, spiritual, & cultural wounds • Develop sacred self-care practices that honor your needs in their wholeness, & much more!
Some of my strengths as a provider are my passion for serving my community and my ability to form authentic, personable connections with the individuals I work with. I enjoy combining my lived-experiences, personality, and humor with my skillset, and believe that joy, laughter, and connection are some of the most therapeutic things that can be incorporated into the healing space.
My ideal clients are those who are curious about themselves and ready to self-discover. Because I practice from a decolonial, anti-oppressive lens, my practices are most beneficial to those who are interested in unlearning harmful/unhelpful societal constructs while learning and honoring their most authentic selves.
You are a beautifully complex and layered being. Understanding and loving all of who you are isn't just something you are deserving of, it's a requirement for your health and happiness. No matter what aspect of your life we are focusing on, my aim will always be helping you to identify, understand, and integrate all parts of yourself - who you are mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and culturally.
Understanding our emotions is paramount to understanding ourselves and our needs. I am not the therapist to look to if you are wanting to escape reality or suppress your emotions - if you work with me, I’m gonna get you in your feelings! I enjoy teaching the folks I work with how to build relationship with their emotions by helping them to remove "fix it" mentalities and, instead, learn to accept, embrace, and nurture their emotions.
We live in a complex world where we are met with tons of complex experiences. It is important that individuals working with me experience sessions as a safe, well-integrated, and non-judgmental space for them to land. Within our sessions, we will observe and build awareness on the ways your personal experiences have affected you, and explore ways to heal from those experiences. We will also explore inter-generational, cultural, and societal experiences to develop awareness on ways in which systemic traumas have impacted your life.
We often discount how intelligent and communicative our physical bodies are, as well as how they interact with our mind, heart, and spirit. Our bodies hold memories, emotions, and sacred knowledge, and they give us vital information about ourselves and our needs. With use of Mindfulness-Somatic approaches, we will explore ways to fully observe and integrate your physical body into your healing experience in order to understand your needs and properly nurture yourself through stressful moments.
