Hi, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) Based out of Texas. Licensed both in Texas and Pennsylvania. I have been working in the mental health field for over 10 years. I specialize primarily in working with individuals that struggle with trauma and anxiety. With experience in various types of trauma, I have partnered with many individuals to help them learn how to navigate life. My goal is to empower the individual through learning coping skills that are the right fit for the person.
I am also an individual that believes all people deserve therapy, I am not going to judge a client, or make them feel small. My job is truly to hear what my client has to say and offer any skill that I have to help that person. I am an ally to all people regardless of your identity.
My name is Brenda Acevedo and I have over 15 years experience working in the mental health field in Texas. I work with adults navigating anxiety, trauma, women's issues, life transitions, and LGBTQ+ related concerns. Many of my clients come to therapy during periods of change, loss, self discovery, or emotional distress when the strategies that once worked no longer seem enough. Whether you're struggling with persistent worry, processing difficult experiences, navigating relationship challenges, rebuilding your confidence, or trying to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect, and heal. My goal is to help you gain greater clarity, reconnect with your strengths, and create a life that feels more aligned with your values, needs, and sense of purpose.

My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, and centered on creating a space where you can feel comfortable being yourself—without judgment or pressure to fit into someone else’s idea of how you “should” think, feel, or live. My own experience as a neurodivergent person, along with my personal and professional experience with neurodiversity, has given me a genuine understanding of how differently each person can experience the world and their own mind. I enjoy helping clients understand how their unique brain works, recognize their strengths, and find ways to work with themselves rather than against themselves. I especially enjoy working with teens and young adults as they discover who they are, set goals, and navigate life’s challenges, while welcoming clients at every stage of life.
Congratulations on taking the first step towards healing, despite feeling worried or unsure, perhaps even hopeful, despite misgivings. Choosing to change is difficult, and you are doing it!! With 26 years of practice, I bring professional expertise, personal understanding, sincerity, warmth and caring to your healing journey. Whether you’re navigating life solo or in a relationship, unresolved childhood trauma can quietly shape your patterns, reactions, and relationships. I help individuals and couples uncover those early wounds and start healing—through psychotherapy grounded in neuroscience and mindfulness. Because healing isn’t just talk; it’s nervous system deep. The body keeps the score, but you get to rewrite the story. Let’s create the life you were always meant to live. Not all therapies or therapists are created equal, as you know if you are still struggling with the same issues. Time for a change.
If you want to feel better about yourself, confident, excited about life, build healthier relationships, and become your best self, welcome to creating your best life. Together, we'll integrate Mind/Body/Spirit approaches with classical therapeutic interventions tailored to your unique needs.

I am a licensed independent practice-level clinical social worker. I have a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work DCSW. I have dedicated my career to working in behavioral health treatment. I have worked within the Department of Defense Schools in Europe and Asia. I have worked with Active Duty members, Veterans and their families. Prior to joining the Civil Service, I practiced mental health within the civilian community, my focus there was substance abuse, domestic violence and and a variety of mental health issues working with adolescents and adults. BLUF: There is nothing I haven't seen. My strongest ability lies in helping a client identify strengths and weaknesses while guiding them to identify goals and interventions that will work specifically for them. The most challenging part of therapy is believing it will make a difference. The best way to overcome that hurdle is to see successful outcomes.
Clinical experience has taught me that if you are willing to do the work, you will see results. Using the appropriate interventions, combined with mutual openness, respect and trust will enable you to overcome obstacles and achieve goals you didn't believe possible. Through years of dedicated work with all age groups, life experiences and extremely challenging circumstances, I have developed a strong sense of commitment in creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters healing, self-awareness and growth.
Hi! I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Florida, Oregon, Kansas (LSCSW), New Hampshire, and Texas. I received my Master's degree from Louisiana State University and have been practicing for 9 years. I help adults find ways to heal their anxiety and depression, help them become more self-aware, and to stop negative thinking, so they can become the best versions of themselves. I utilize a variety of treatment modalities such as CBT, CPT, DBT, ACT, Interpersonal, Narrative, Supportive, Compassionate, Grief, and various others depending on your needs. I help clients stay in the present moment (utilizing other techniques) as this can be very difficult to do in our busy lives today.
I became a social worker because I want to help people feel better about themselves and their lives. I no longer wanted to be "just an employee" and work for a large organization. I wanted to use my strengths and abilities to help others because it would be challenging and rewarding. Therapy is a form of "self-care", and we will work together as a team to address your specific challenges, goals, and needs. I am dedicated, passionate, and caring.
I also conduct emotional support animal evaluations in Florida, Texas, New Hampshire, Kansas, and Oregon. If you would like more information about me or getting an emotional support animal evaluation completed, please visit my website at instillinghopepsychotherapy.com.

I will meet you where you are in your life journey and we will go through it at your pace, taking things as they come and building and enhancing skills to overcome not only the memories of the past but also current and future challenges.

I have over a decade of experience treating clients at the clinical level. As a former Army Chaplain, I have assisted Soldier and Family members in the most extreme circumstances - to include combat. As a fellow human being, I meet my clients on common ground to assist them in gaining traction and moving forward. I come beside people to help them see their strengths, capabilities, and new possibilities. I help people to find a ray of hope when their life is stuck at the midnight hour.
Welcome. I’m a combat veteran and retired Army officer, Christian, husband, father, grandfather, and experienced clinical psychologist. I want to get into the root causes of your struggles or battle and find ways to overcome, change, forgive, accept, and move upward toward the light. It may not seem like it, but the darkness will eventually lift, and the light will surely shine again.
Life is a battle in the heart, and I humbly accept that I will be in my own battle or someone else’s battle for the rest of my life. Like the weather, our emotions are powerful. Many days the sun shines, but the rains do come and sometimes a destructive storm hits hard (divorce, the loss of a loved one, cancer, suicidal thoughts, et cetera). It's a battlefield. When it comes to the challenge of relationships, so often, it is ego (wounded pride), self-esteem, and powerful emotions at the root of our conflicts. To understand these forces is the key to peace. Let's work through it!
I have been honored to be in the field of psychology for 22 years since 2004. Through the years, more than half of my time was in the Army where I primarily worked with soldiers enduring anxiety, depression, trauma, Traumatic Brain Injury, and all the other usual suspects of psychological distress. It was a time well for the analysis of guilt, fear, worry, shame, pain, heartbreak, addiction, identity conflicts, and sorrow. I’ve also worked in the prisons for many years with some extreme situations (i.e., murder, severe mental illness, rape, child molestation, drug kingpins, gang leaders). So, no matter what your circumstances are, never quit and never give up! Survival is a noble plight!
Welcome—just as you are. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or weighed down by family expectations while trying to be everything for everyone, you’re not alone. I offer a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to over-explain your story—your experiences are understood and respected. Using evidence-based approaches like CBT and EMDR, along with a trauma-informed lens, I help you process what you’ve been through, set boundaries without guilt, and reconnect with your sense of self. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to do it alone—I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Recognizing the need for help is an important first step. In fact, rather than acknowledging a weakness, it is a sign of strength. I want to help you to build on that strength to achieve success in the areas you are struggling with.
Specializing in relationship dynamics, I invite individuals, couples, and families to improve communication, resolve conflict, and build skills to manage anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and more. Christian counseling, men's issues, and family roles are additional areas of special focus I provide.
I believe in personal responsibility, the reality of options at your disposal, and your ability to make decisions that are good for you with clarity. Ownership results in liberty. I would be working with you to help things make more sense and see a path forward.
