Let ME help YOU unpack... your emotional baggage and lighten your load. As Erykah Badu sings in her powerful song, "Bag Lady," it's time to let go of all those heavy bags you've been carrying and start fresh. My approach to therapy is grounded in empathy, non-judgment, and collaboration. I believe that everyone can heal and grow, and my role as a therapist is to provide a safe and supportive environment to facilitate that process. I am a compassionate, culturally responsive therapist who specializes in supporting adolescent girls through some of the most transformative and tender years of their lives. I create a safe, affirming space where girls can explore who they are, unpack what they’ve been through, and grow into who they’re becoming. I understand that seeking therapy can be a vulnerable and courageous step, and I commend you for taking that first step. So, let's put those bags down and start the journey towards healing and growth. When booking an appointment, please select a start time at the half hour mark. For example, book your appointment at the :30 minute mark.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our initial session, we'll briefly introduce ourselves, go over your intake details, and dive into the challenges you're experiencing. It is helpful if you come with questions that you have about the therapy process and idea of what you want to accomplish in therapy. This process sets the groundwork for us to develop a plan and establish goals that we'll address in subsequent sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My biggest strengths as a therapist include my 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and parents, and my ability to assist them with a wide range of mental health concerns. Through my experience, I have developed a deeper understanding of the challenges that adolescents and families face and I have honed my skills in helping them navigate these challenges with compassion, empathy, and evidence-based interventions. Another strength of mine is my ability to connect with individuals on a personal level quickly. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is essential to the success of therapy. I strive to build a strong, supportive, and collaborative relationship with each of my clients. I am a relatable therapist who listens attentively and shows genuine care and empathy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Are you or your teen feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of adolescence? Navigating changes in friendships, family dynamics, self-identity, and school can leave teens feeling misunderstood, anxious, and disconnected. From struggles with self-esteem and body image, to challenges with ADHD or ODD, many teenage girls silently carry emotional burdens that can affect their relationships and well‑being. For these reasons, therapy can be one of the safest entries to learning how to unpack those feelings, build coping skills, and foster resilience. Continue reading to learn how I can support your teen in gaining the confidence, clarity, and emotional tools she needs to heal and thrive in life. With years of experience working with teens and families, I specialize in supporting adolescent girls (ages 14–19) as they navigate the complexities of growing up. At times it includes growing through repairing broken parental relationships, cultivating healthy friendships, to comfortability with questions that they may have about their own identity and body image. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and a deep understanding of each young lady sitting across from me during our time together. Together, we’ll build the foundation on womanhood needed to foster trust and openness of relationships that will reflect across many areas of their lives. If you’re ready to help your daughter unpack the emotional weight she’s carrying and find a path toward healing, I invite you to take the first step by submitting a consultation request here on Psychology Today. FREE 15‑min consultations are always complimentary. Let’s work together to help her build the resilience and self‑confidence she needs to flourish.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT as a treatment method for years. We use it to recognize how we think, affects the way we feel and often influences our behaviors. I help identify harmful behavioral patterns and we work collaboratively to identify healthier approaches that lead to healthier outcomes.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In SFBT, we believe that you are the expert in your own life, and our goal is to support you in discovering and implementing the solutions that best fit your unique circumstances. Instead of dwelling on the problems and analyzing their origins, we will direct our attention to your goals and the steps that can be taken to achieve them. I will ask you questions that will help us explore your desired future and the actions you can take to move towards it. Together, we will identify your strengths, abilities, and past successes to guide the solutions we generate.
