I’ve known since I was nine years old that I wanted to become a therapist—it has always been my lifelong dream. My journey began in a community mental health facility, where I gained valuable experience working with major mental illnesses and teaching practical skills. That foundation shaped me into a therapist who empowers clients to help themselves and build stronger, more meaningful connections with others.
Outside of my work, I enjoy gardening, crocheting, camping, and spending time with my pug. I’m also an avid reader, especially of romance novels. Family is a big part of who I am—I’m a wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, and proud parent of both boys and girls, including twins. These diverse life experiences give me a unique perspective and help me relate to clients on many different levels.

Do you feel like you've lost your way, your purpose and identity,
or just need to get back on track? Hello! My name is Erie, and I'd love to help you.
Social workers typically have an interesting life story and personal experiences with tragedy that tug at our heartstrings. I am no different. At times, I wonder "how is it that I have survived these mountains and valleys?" Despite personal tragedy, loss, and despair, influential people have served as beacons of hope throughout the years in my life.
Along with my re-creation of self through school, internships, and certifications, I have learned one basic human tenant that would be my guiding light through the most challenging of times: people need people. I realize that this sounds a bit rudimentary, but this is the cornerstone of social work and the secret to my success in beating the statistical odds that accompany a survivor of childhood abuse, drug addiction and alcoholism, military combat trauma, and the loss of a child.
So, the question stands: why am I here and what do I want? I simply want to pay it forward as many have done for me. I would have never expected to be where I am or doing what I'm doing. I personally believe that there is hope and light in the most desperate, dark places and recesses of the human soul. For that reason, I bet on the underdog, society's undeserving, and those with whom all other plans have failed.
I find that my reward and inner satisfaction comes with doing for others when all else has failed and all others have given up. For this reason, I will keep doing for others, because they are worth it.
The best time for new beginnings is NOW. Sometimes, life leaves you wondering how you ever got through that situation? So, help me help you ! Are you experiencing symptoms of depression, anxiety, struggling with trauma or do you just feel stuck? Do you feel the need to talk to somebody but you don't know what to say? People and their life experiences have always fascinated me as long as I can remember. My experience includes working with children , adolescents and individuals of diverse cultures. I am a strong believer of the statement, "Progress is progress no matter how small it is".
I am a Nationally certified counselor and an LPC - Associate in the state of TX. Described by my clients as empathetic, kind and patient. My primary focus is to provide a safe space to unravel emotions, trauma or experiences without the fear of being judged. I am a trained professional and my primary area of specialty is Cognitive behavioral therapy.
"You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending - C.S. Lewis. Never underestimate your feelings or experiences as invalid or not important. Your experiences are a part of your journey and it is important to tackle the negatives and embrace the positive. I am so excited to be a part of your healing process.
My mission is to be a servant to others by empowering and helping you on your path to emotional wellness. I have helped children, teens and adults with anxiety, depression, mental health disorders, relationship conflict, and parenting concerns; assisted others to heal from acute abuse, childhood and adult traumas. I am also experienced with persons who have migrated to the US from other countries and the barriers that are encountered with those changes. Whether it be acute crises', life surprises, circumstantial stressors or complex traumas; let me teach you new skills or sharpen the ones you already use to either decrease, eliminate or change negative behaviors or unwanted symptoms.
I have worked among many different populations and settings (non-profit organizations, state and government facilities, public education, and now private practice) and have learned to navigate through different challenges and with those experiences I have become a person who is compassionate to unique needs and desires. If there is an area of concern that I'm not able to assist you with I will be honest with you and seek assistance or refer you to a better qualified professional.

Hello Friend and WELCOME to my practice Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC!
My name is Monica. I am an experienced psychotherapist with 20 plus years of experienced. I've worked in private practice and/or clinical hospital settings and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards I uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of the box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see using a different perspective.
Everyone at one point or another in life may experience a host of unbearable stressors that leaves one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', with feelings such as anxious, fatigue, sadness. As if our unique threshold is completely depleted.
Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control and that tiredness is only temporary. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors crosses the threshold to what feels comfortable, interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things'; find ourselves in solitude.
I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment.
My journey began as a young child whose home was a host of struggles which provided insight into what we all experience. Inspired by a helper, I became a psychotherapist, worked in a clinical setting, garnered a vast amount of knowledge which helped me to specialize in various modalities of treatment. As a psychotherapist, I hold a high standard for myself and clients, which includes helping those dealing w/depression, grief, anxiety, relationship issues, trauma, chronic health and other issues.
Together, we'll identify what's not working, find solutions you can innately use, form goals without rescripting your life.
After graduating from college with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work with a Micro Social Work concentration, followed by passing the Texas state board exam granting me a license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have worked with individuals and families for over 25 years. My first post graduation position was Director of Child & Adolescent Unit at Intracare Psychiatric Hospital, followed by Director of Adoption Access, then Lead Therapist at St. Joseph's Hospital Adult Unit, and other agency and hospital positions scanning a 20 year period. My professional focus has always been to work with individuals, families and children in need of support, guidance and resources.

I employ evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to address a variety of mental health conditions, including but not limited to anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), relationship and communication issues, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem and self-worth, and stress management.
Do you struggle with people-pleasing, low self-worth, or painful relationships that leave you feeling like you’ve lost yourself? Maybe you grew up in a family that looked “fine” on the outside but left you with invisible scars of trauma. You might find yourself replaying old patterns—turning to food, restriction, or overexercise to cope, feeling guilty when you try to set boundaries, or wondering why you keep choosing partners who don’t treat you well. If you’re exhausted from trying to hold it all together while doubting yourself inside, therapy can help you finally break free.

Hello, I have been a Counselor for 15 years and I love my work. I grew up loving working with animals, competing in sports, reading everything, and having a great curiosity for how nature and people worked. I have been blessed with many wonderful and loving people in my life; and know how much it means to experience kind and helpful people in hard times.
I provide an organized and easy to follow process using EMDR to address the difficulties my clients are facing and help them achieve the outcomes they are looking for. I provide a calm and accepting presence to my clients as they tackle some of the biggest challenges in their life. I value the effort they are making and how important to them and their loved ones their progress is.
