Hi there! I'm a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who has been in practice for over 20 years. I help adults manage the struggles of life- stress, relationships, caregiving, life changes, chronic health issues, trauma, anxiety, depression, etc. Therapy is not a one size fits all kind of thing so I can utilize several different types of treatment modalities to help you reach your goals.
Expectations are powerful things so it's good to know what to expect. The first session is what I call the "Get to Know You Session" where I might ask a bit more about the questions you answered on the intake form (or if that was not complete, we will do that verbally), your challenges and your goals for therapy. You will also have the chance to ask me questions about process and therapy in general.
My greatest strengths are flexibility in approach and perspective as well as life experience. I have worked with all kinds of people with all kinds of strengths and challenges and I learned whole lot along the way.
Therapy is not a one size fits all kind of thing so I can use various treatment methods to meet your needs. Most often I use CBT, CPT (trauma), exposure, ACT, person-centered--just to name a few.
