If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by anxiety, stuck in depression, quick to anger, or frustrated in your relationships — you’re not alone. Many of the people I work with feel like something just isn’t working, but they can’t quite explain why. Often, these struggles come from early experiences where emotions were ignored, dismissed, or too much for the adults around us to handle.
As children, we learn fast: if expressing emotions doesn’t feel safe or accepted, we push them down. Over time, that emotional disconnection can turn into anxiety, depression, relationship conflict, or anger that feels hard to control.
My work focuses on helping you understand where these patterns come from and how to shift them. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that feels heavy, anger that shows up too fast, or relationship challenges that keep repeating — we’ll work together to untangle the deeper story and build healthier ways of coping, connecting, and feeling.
This isn’t just about managing symptoms — it’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that have been shut down for too long.
As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (Texas and Florida) I’ve worked with Individuals, Couples, Families of various sizes, with a plethora of sessions on parenting. Nearly 20 years later, it is still a privilege to work with individuals, couples in various stages or phases of their relationship and families of all sizes.
I’m often looking for "the funny" in the moment and the world around me. I greatly enjoy sarcasm, snark, and satire. I'm fairly casual but have been told I "Clean up well", and clients have told me in the past they appreciate that I do not come across as "stuffy".
I daydream of going on cruises with my wife, occasionally think about bringing our children along. I treasure a long nap in a hammock, and I love movies. Once upon a time I even submitted a short film to the Cannes Film Festival (wasn't selected) but I did enter.
Clinically, I work with a foundation of Solution Focus and Systemic Therapy, with attributes of Narrative, Structural and/or Strategic.
*** I do not provide animal support letters or ESA documentation, disability-related paperwork, and fit for work evaluation documentation. Additionally, court-mandated evaluations, divorce or custody agreement related paperwork would be out of the scope of my practice, therefore is not something I engage in at this time.

My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.

Hello Friend! Welcome to my practice, Pragmatic Solutions Therapy, PLLC!
I am an experienced psychotherapist with over 20 years. I've worked in private practice and in the clinical hospital setting and now own my own thriving practice. I have passion, dedication and ethical standards that I make sure to uphold with every client. My basic mantra in life is simple: Drop the baggage and take the value. Step out of that box and if you can't change the problem, then change the way you see it using a different perspective.
Everyone at one point or another in life experiences a host of unbearable stressors which may leave one feeling stressed or 'out of sorts'. We may even describe that feeling as 'lost in a web of frustration', which feels like anxiousness, fatigue, and perhaps sadness; as if our unique threshold has been completely depleted.
Feeling anxious is normal. Feeling stressed is actually a sense of determination to gain back control, though if comes with temporary tiredness. Anxiousness is innate in all of us. What's not healthy is when stressors cross the threshold of your wellbeing and you stay stuck there, feeling uncomfortable, which interrupts our daily habits/responsibilities to 'fix things' and you are left in solitude.
I’ll help you navigate the web of confusion to find empowerment.
Respectfully, Monica Pina

Hello there! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in August 2008 and a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling in 2015, both from Sam Houston State University. For the last 10 years, I have served victims of crime in their country of origin, refugees, and immigrants in a humanitarian crisis. I offer mental health services to patients with stress disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma and abuse-related disorders, self-esteem and confidence disorders, & personality disorders.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults who are trying to better understand themselves, their relationships, and the patterns that keep them feeling stuck. I’m especially drawn to working with people who have spent a lot of time questioning themselves, putting others’ needs before their own, or feeling disconnected from who they are and what they want. My work often centers around developing self-trust, creating healthier relationships, strengthening boundaries, and feeling more secure and confident in yourself. My approach is warm, genuine, collaborative, and practical. I believe therapy should be a place where you can be honest about what’s really going on without feeling judged or pressured to have everything figured out. We can slow things down, explore what may be underneath the patterns you’re experiencing, and make sense of how your past experiences and current relationships may be influencing the way you see yourself and move through the world.
Many people reach a point where they know something needs to change, but aren’t quite sure what that change looks like. You may be navigating a transition, questioning whether your relationships reflect what you truly want, struggling to trust your own decisions, or simply feeling unlike yourself. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing that the way you’ve been coping isn’t working anymore, while not yet knowing what to do instead. My goal is to help you develop a clearer understanding of yourself and the life you want to create. I’m not here to tell you who to be or what choices to make. I’m here to help you feel more grounded in yourself, recognize what you need, and build the confidence and tools to move forward in a way that feels authentic to you.
I believe in the healing power of a strong therapeutic alliance. My practice is based on the conviction that with the right support, everyone can effect change in their lives. My style is caring and not judgmental; I utilize Cognitive behavioral therapy, existential therapy, and Brief Cognitive hypnosis to guide you in the process of learning new skills to manage your thoughts, emotions and behavior.
I am clinically licensed in the states of Illinois, Texas, Utah and Minnesota. I have been providing therapy through video sessions for more than three years.
I am bilingual in Spanish and English. I am a painter and a poet; I consider that Art is another wonderful tool to achieve healing.

My Background
As someone who personally embraces a journey of mental and emotional health, I am
thrilled that you, too, value your own. Welcome to your greater!
When asked why I have chosen this field, I always respond with, “It chose me”. I was
chosen to enter my own healing process and then pursue higher education at Sam
Houston State University to professionally qualify my purpose. I obtained my Bachelor's
of Science (2005) and Master’s (2009) degrees both from the illustrious college. Since
that time I have developed my skill set by working with individuals, couples, and families
in a variety of settings that include outpatient psychiatric programs/hospitals,
Department of Family and Protective Services, and array of private practices.
Hi, I’m Julie. I’m a therapist with over 17 years of experience supporting individuals through life’s challenges—including anxiety, depression, trauma, and major transitions. I’ve had the privilege of working with people of all ages in a variety of settings, which has deepened my respect for each person’s unique journey. My style is warm and collaborative, grounded in trust, compassion, and genuine respect. I use an eclectic, strength-based approach to help clients build practical tools, navigate difficulties, and reconnect with what matters most. Above all, I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly understood—because healing begins when you feel seen and accepted just as you are.

Welcome and hello! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist along with being an International Certified Gambling Counselor, Level 1 , a Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional and a Qualified Supervisor in Florida. I have found an incredible passion for helping individuals. I have worked extensively in substance abuse, with woman's issues (infertility), trauma, couples, gambling, intimacy issues and family therapy. I feel it is an honor to get to work with someone during their decision to grow. I feel that my desire to help others come from my own personal experience.
I am a licensed clinician with nearly twenty years of experience supporting adults through anxiety, depression, life transitions, and complex stressors. Much of my clinical work has been in primary care settings, where I worked with individuals experiencing the intersection of mental health concerns, medical conditions, and significant life challenges.
I take a strengths‑based, collaborative approach and value creating space for clients to share their stories in a way that feels respectful and empowering. My work focuses on building practical coping skills, supporting emotional balance, and helping clients navigate change at a pace that feels manageable and meaningful.
I draw from evidence‑based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT‑informed), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT‑informed), mindfulness‑based strategies, Solution‑Focused Brief Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I also have extensive experience collaborating with psychiatrists and supporting clients who are receiving psychiatric medication as part of their care.
I value ongoing learning and continuing education to ensure my work remains thoughtful, ethical, and responsive to each client’s needs. I recognize that starting therapy can feel unfamiliar or overwhelming, and I strive to create a supportive, grounded space where growth can happen with honesty, compassion, and mutual respect.
Life can be challenging and uncertain, and you don’t have to navigate it alone. I look forward to meeting you and supporting you in creating meaningful change.
