Welcome! My name is Shelese Moaning and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas. I have been working with clients for about 7 years in various settings from acute psychiatric facilities to traditional online therapy sessions. I aim to create a space where you feel open to share the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that come with being human.
During an ideal first session, I go over confidentiality, discuss what to expect from counseling, learn more about you, and answer any questions you may have. I also like to talk about what brought you to session and if time permits learn about your goals for therapy.
I endeavor to make clients feel welcome, safe, heard, and validated during their sessions with me. As I am a human, I encourage you to let me know if something is not working for you or if I have misunderstood you so you can have the best therapy sessions possible.
I have worked with clients across the lifespan (pediatrics-geriatrics). I enjoy working with adolescents, young (emerging) adults especially as it relates to college and career related challenges, and young mothers. There is often a lot of anxiety, uncertainty, and exploration within these stages and I'm here to walk with you through your journey.

I've never been to therapy before, and this was my first session, and to be honest, I was a little nervous. She was very attentive, warm, kind, and understanding which naturally allowed me to open up, and release the nerves I had. I truly look forward to our future sessions.
