This struggle is real and often times we can thank anxiety, depression, and trauma for this rocky road. The body and mind desires balance, consistency, and routine which can easily be disturbed with everyday life stress. Perfection is not an option however, by working together we will explore how to feel more in control of your stress and anxious thoughts. I work with my clients to create an open and safe space where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgement. I am here to support and empower you in that journey. Let’s restore hope together.

Hi! People of all walks of life often go through tough times ... and I am here to help. Since 1991, I have worked with individuals across outpatient and inpatient settings, in homes and schools, and now through telehealth. I have assisted people with a variety of challenges--whether related to depression, anxiety and stress, trauma, behavioral control, self-esteem, substance use, life transition, and other issues. I believe in "possibilities thinking", goal setting, active strategizing, and frequent accounting of progress. As a long-term counselor and college psychology professor, I am well acquainted with many therapeutic approaches; however, I am somewhat partial to cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation and mindfulness, and solution-focused treatment. I am also formally EMDR-trained and DBT-Certified, both of which are helpful for emotional regulation. There are many therapy options and providers--whomever you select, I wish you the best. Remember--it’s your life, your journey … make the most of it! Sincerely, Rick NOTE: At the current time, my availability will typically be from 9-11 am on M/W/F, from 7-9 pm on some weekday evenings; and from 8 am-3 pm on most Saturdays and Sundays. Sometimes, I can free up other times as well. NOTE: I am accepting only adults (age 18 and older). NOTE: I am offering only 1:1/individual therapy (no direct family or couples' sessions). NOTE: I do not engage in any court-ordered treatment. NOTE: I am interested in conducting therapy, not doing work-mandated, IEP, or other (e.g., Disability, Drug & Alcohol, or Mental Competency) evaluations. NOTE: Though an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor, I am not a Licensed Psychologist or a Psychiatrist. As such, I cannot conduct psychological testing or prescribe medications.

Establishing and building rapport is paramount to any working relationship. I am easy to establish rapport with and am very outgoing. I am passionate about the work that I do and that shows through during sessions with my clients. I believe that every person deserves to be accepted, celebrated, and loved for who they are. Hello, I’m Angela. I support women in midlife who feel lost, stuck, or invisible after spending decades caring for others. Whether you’re preparing for an empty nest, adjusting to life after your children have left, or rediscovering who you are in this next chapter, you’re not alone. Many of my clients arrive feeling burned out, uncertain about the future, and unsure of who they are now that their roles have shifted. You may have spent years putting others first — as a mother, partner, caregiver, or professional — only to realize you don’t quite know what you want anymore. Together, we’ll create space to process that loss, reawaken your sense of self, and build a life that reflects your values, strengths, and desires — not just your responsibilities.

Hello and welcome! I’m Beth, and I’m so glad you’re here and have taken the important first step toward self-care. I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Pennsylvania. You may be feeling like you've lost motivation or that your emotions have taken over, or perhaps you're worried about a child. Whatever challenges you're facing, EVERYONE deserves to lead a meaningful life. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can confront their struggles, find empowerment, and regain a sense of security to start living their best lives. As a highly sensitive person (HSP) with strong empathy, I understand the importance of compassion. I'm a down-to-earth person who has my own struggles, just like everyone else. I have two children: a son who recently got married and a daughter currently in college. Between my family, including my husband, we certainly know how to drive each other crazy! I love spending time outdoors in nature, as it helps me stay balanced. The tools and strategies I share with my clients are ones I’ve used in my own life, and I believe my experiences as a therapist, educator, mother, wife, daughter, and friend make me a relatable ally for those I work with. Before becoming a counselor, I spent the first 20 years of my career as a school teacher in Philadelphia. During that time, I was privy to many difficult situations in my students' homes, including various forms of abuse and neglect. Unfortunately, the education system's main focus was on meeting academic standards, leaving little room to address the mental health challenges these children faced. I did my best to support them both academically and emotionally. Over time, I realized what my true calling was and I resigned from teaching to pursue a graduate degree in mental health counseling.

I am devoted to enacting positive change by connecting with, supporting, and empowering individuals. Throughout my journey, I have been drawn to people, felt the impact of the human experience, and have learned many lessons along the way. I consider myself a student of life, constantly learning from experiences and people; as I continue to draw breath, I will continue to learn. Perhaps the most poignant lesson I have learned thus far, is each person has the inherent power to create and live the life of his/her choosing. Your perfect life can only be designed by you. There is nothing so great or powerful as the human spirit. The ability to heal, replenish, resist, and calibrate is indicative of an innate wisdom that propels an individual toward the ongoing and persistent pursuit of harmony. As humans, we are comprised of an intricate network of complex systems working individually and collectively to create, maintain, and restore balance whenever necessary. The self in all of its innate wisdom knows and therefore seeks whatever is necessary to achieve perfect alignment. It is my mission to assist you in promoting your personal wellness by inspiring wholeness. I strongly believe each person deserves to experience consistent and eternal joy while living a meaningful life with purpose. Life experiences, perceptions, and relationships often create obstacles and blockages disrupting that. I work with people to restore personal alignment empowering the individual to operate from a place of wholeness. I am honest and authentic. I am a critical thinker whose open-mindedness enables me to accept each person and recognize distinct value. I am a staunch believer, you are the expert of you. We partner in a collaborative approach, you as expert and me with expertise. I see individuals as people with identities, characteristics, challenges, and experiences. I use labels only to elicit awareness and understanding and not to identify or categorize. I am honored for the opportunity to meet and work with you.

Starting with a new therapist takes a lot of courage. Courage to admit to ourselves that what we’ve tried before hasn’t helped, and we might benefit from another perspective and someone’s knowledge who has training and experience. I can tell you all about the alphabet soup (credentials) behind my name, but what I know to be most important is the relationship you build with your therapist. I've been told I’m easy to sit with and talk to. I believe that while therapy can be hard work, it can also be a time of funny reflection. Having a positive therapeutic relationship is a big part of what heals us, and it is my desire that we can sit together and laugh, experience tears, and talk openly about your greatest concerns and pains. If you’re thinking about starting therapy, please feel free to request a complementary 15 minute consultation where we can talk and see if we might be a good fit for each other. I have experience working with adults experiencing grief and loss, addictions, ADHD, and trauma. Even if you’re not sure therapy is right for you, there is no commitment for a consultation. You might just discover that you’re ready to feel freedom from the burdens you’ve been carrying with you. *My alphabet soup (credentials)= ATR-BC (Board Certified Art Therapist), CAADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor), CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional), EMDR-PT (Certified Eye Movement Desensitization Reprograming Practitioner), LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor)*

The modality I use is primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which focuses on thoughts, feelings, and our behaviors. I am non traditional in the sense that I recognize not one approach to therapy works for everyone and I don't always need to be sitting in my chair to provide effective counseling. Hello. I look forward to working with you. My own background is one of growing up on farms, having little money and ambitious dreams. I did not know what it was but I knew I wanted to go to college and get out of the tobacco fields around me. My dreams came true. I ended up being a psychologist and a teacher, spending decades working in residential treatment then in schools, the last 13 years working with preschoolers and their families to prepare them to succeed in school. As a teacher, I taught many college and university courses as well as workshops, most recently to address grief and trauma. In the early 1990's, I felt led to live and work at or near the world center of Quakers called Pendle Hill in PA. There I studied and taught Arts and Spirituality while also serving as a Psychologist in nearby schools. I came to see the importance of Co-Creativity (creating together a piece of life we truly want to live for). My specialties in the Arts have been writing, visual arts and dancing/movement from a "no wrong way" perspective. I incorporate these into the therapy process as they become beneficial. For much of my life, I have also been engaged with my own therapeutic process. Having been the client for several years, gives me the perspective of what might be important to you as we work together, never assuming I know or forgetting to ask you. In our sessions, I want to hear about you, find our starting points and from there develop action plans each session to work on the goals needed to find the life you dream of and are willing to work toward.

Fulfilling our potential is a lifelong journey of becoming more at peace with ourselves, deepening the intimacy in our relationships, being more authentically human, and feeling more alive each day. Along the way, certain challenges arise to cause us distress or confusion. Such moments can make us feel held back, afraid, or unsure of where to go from here. But these moments can also be the points of growth and healing from which we renew ourselves in ways we did not think possible. It is a great privilege helping men and women in their search to improve their relationship with themselves and others, to lessen the burden of emotional pain, to experience freedom from addictions, or to embark on new life challenges - to find the hope and courage needed to take those important next steps.

Pittsburgh, PA - Accepting clients in PA

Hello, I’m Colleen. Does it feel as if you are giving more energy than you have or that there are too many things and not enough mental energy to juggle all those tasks? Are you finding that your relationships are strained or that keeping up with friends and loved ones seems like an unsurmountable task? Do you find it difficult to give yourself grace and empathy? I am looking to work with young professionals and adults to help manage anxiety, burnout, depression, and the stressors that come with living in a chaotic world. Together, we can identify the issues that you are facing, discuss how best to manage these feelings and stressors and find a way to make your routine and relationships work with you instead of against you. I have weekend availability to help fit therapy into your busy schedule. I have worked in the hospital setting for seven years now and feel very comfortable talking with medical professionals about the particularly difficult strains that a career in medicine puts on individuals. Whether it is dealing with the mental load and stress of being a resident, the emotional labor done as a nurse, or the burnout that all individuals in this profession face, I am here to listen and provide non-judgmental feedback to help you manage such a demanding career. Anxiety, depression, and strained relationships can feel overwhelming and unsurmountable alone, but I’m here to help. In our sessions, I hope to provide a place where you feel safe, and somewhere we can work together to make a plan to make any stressors that you are dealing with manageable. I look forward to working with you.

Hi All, My name is Linda, and I have a deep passion for helping folks grow to the heights they want to achieve. I have been a therapist for years, and have spent a great deal of time helping those who have experienced trauma. I love working with people and have a special place in my heart for the Arts and Music. For many years I owned a woodcraft and ceramic business and continue to keep crafts close to me. I also love music and love to play the organ, piano, and guitar. I was a non-traditional student and received my bachelor's degree in Clinical Psychology in 1996 from East Stroudsburg University, then raised my own three children for a while. I returned to school and completed my master's degree in Social Work in 2020 from Capella University. I currently hold an LCSW in PA. I have taken many additional trainings in Trauma-informed counseling, DBT, EMDR, and of course crafts/painting. Helping folks care for themselves is extremely important in life’s struggles, and sharing the heart's desires helps us all navigate the world. It is with great anticipation that I get to know the uniqueness of you in a holistic environment where we can work on reaching the heights of your passion. I hope all my folks find me supportive and comforting on their journey in life. We can do this! See you soon!
