Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor serving clients across Pennsylvania. I graduated with my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University and I hold certifications in personal training, nutrition, mindfulness cognitive behavioral therapy, infertility/pregnancy loss/postpartum issues and solution-focused therapy. I take a holistic approach to mental health and combine aspects of fitness and nutrition to optimize wellness. My specializations include anxiety, eating disorders, social phobia, panic disorder and women’s issues. I use a collaborative approach with clients and tailor treatment to each individual’s specific goals and needs.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will be asking questions to get to know you and your specific needs. I am also open and happy to answer any questions you may have about me or therapy in general. You do not have to discuss anything you are not ready to or comfortable with and I will respect that. You will leave the first session with the beginnings of a treatment plan tailored to your individual goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My background in fitness and nutrition provide me with a unique perspective on overall health. I truly believe in the mind/body connection and combine aspects of other areas of wellness, including stress management, nutrition, and exercise, to help clients reach their goals. I also strongly believe in collaboration with clients and view them as the expert on their own lives, which means I will be in the passenger seat alongside you, as the driver, towards treatment.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I am certified in Mindfulness-CBT, which focuses on how thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact while also incorporating techniques such as meditation or body scans to teach clients to become aware of thoughts and feelings without placing judgement on them.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I am certified in SFBT, which views the client as the expert of their own life. This treatment focuses on the strengths and what is working for individuals and then building on the skills that they already possess.

Psychodynamic

My graduate studies were rooted in psychodynamic therapy and placed an emphasis on how the unconscious mind influences an individual's behavior. Childhood experiences additionally play a large role in psychodynamic treatment and look at how there may be unresolved conflicts impacting the present.
