I SEE YOU, WARRIOR. The one everyone leans on — because they have no idea about the cracks you never show. You’re the get-it-done, make-it-happen woman who shoulders more than most because letting people down doesn’t feel like an option. On the outside, you move through the world with strength and competence. Inside, you’re stretched thin — exhausted, resentful, and quietly wondering, “When is it my turn?” I help women like you finally put down the armor without losing their power. My approach blends psychology, neuroscience, and energetic law into a grounded, no-BS process that actually works. This isn’t about just coping. It’s exploration — keeping what fits and rewiring what doesn’t. — LPC | 27 Years Experience | Anxiety, Boundaries & Women’s Issues | Weekly Openings Mon/Thurs

When we experience loss, unwanted change, or trauma it can shake our foundations and lead to pain, confusion, and heartache. While we can't prevent life from happening or undo what we've been through, my practice is based on a deeply held belief in the ability for all of us to heal and resume living with meaning and purpose. Recognizing where you're feeling blocked, stuck, or hurt will inform where we focus our efforts. Granting ourselves full permission to feel and express the depth of our feelings is instrumental to healing and growth. My role is to bear witness to your experience while offering support and encouragement as you recognize and process your feelings. Through curiosity, presence, and attunement I seek to facilitate individual's getting back to living through effectively addressing, expelling, and moving past what has caused pain. Owning how we feel without asking for permission, learning how to internally validate ourselves, and developing self regulation strategies will help when we experience intense challenges. We can learn to change our narratives and work towards unconditional self love and acceptance. Please trust yourself and your wisdom when doing healing work.

I’m a licensed clinical social worker who believes therapy should feel like a real conversation—not a test, not a lecture, and definitely not something you have to “perform” for. My goal is to create a space where you can breathe, slow down, and talk honestly about what’s going on without feeling judged or overwhelmed. I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, relationship stress, burnout, and big life transitions. I blend approaches like trauma-informed CBT, ACT, DBT skills, solution-focused work, and mind-body techniques to help you make sense of what you’re feeling and build tools that actually fit your life. I’m gentle when you need space, direct when you want clarity, and collaborative every step of the way.

Hello, I am Dr. Young. Life is full of colors. Light or dark, each has its unique quality. The secret to becoming successful in life is to change from the inside out. We live to move forward, and it requires us to be more and do more. Resilience is an innate human capacity. In my view, everyone is capable of self-healing given the proper guidance and provided with supportive conditions. With a cultivated healthy sense of self, solutions appear with the clarity to think about what you desire in life, not what you cannot or don't have. In tough water, even good swimmers might struggle. If you have dreams and hopes, I can help you acquire new skills as you navigate the waves of life. Let's work together!

Do you feel overwhelmed these days? Are you constantly trying to strike a balance between the demands of work and parenting or co-parenting, while also managing your health, housework, and perhaps other demands? In your family, does the caretaking always fall to you? Are you experiencing depression and anxiety in reaction to either a past trauma and/or burnout from stress? I work with women who are experiencing what I like to call "multiple-role fatigue". I have experience in treating depression, anxiety, and trauma-related stress disorders common to women who face an ever-mounting load of responsibilities in a complex society, where being a mother or a caretaker often comes with diverse challenges and responsibilities. I also like to work with clients on their recovery from trauma. With this in mind, I incorporate various treatment modalities, where healing and recovery can take place through a combination of compassionate conversation, active listening, homework assignments journaling, mindfulness, self-reflection, cognitive behavior therapy, grief counseling, boundary setting and trauma-informed care. I also offer a faith-based support, where clients seeking a Christian approach are welcome. I like to form a supportive alliance with caregivers to help them navigate the demands of parenting a child or children with higher needs. I focus on parental needs, and I work with clients using evidence-based techniques to empower them to achieve balance and experience lasting well-being. For parents, I'm a big advocate of self-care, and I help my clients learn to nurture themselves in a sustainable way to avoid burnout. I also believe that parents need to feel seen and heard, and the stress of parenting cannot be overemphasized. Forming a partnership with parents, giving them a forum in which they feel consistently supported in a compassionate and non-judgmental way, therefore, is one of my top priorities as a therapist.

I have 32 years of experience providing counseling. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, stressing that what we think determines what we feel and what we do. For many reasons, people learn unrealistic or destructive thoughts that cause them problems in their lives. Therapy works towards more realistic thinking, and avoiding old and destructive thinking. As I like to say, "therapy is a conversation with a destination," and realistic thinking is that destination. While I am a Christian, I am not trained as a Christian Counselor. I am a "Counselor who is a Christian." My training is secular, and I regularly see people or all faiths, or none at all. I do not offer court ordered services, nor do I do assessments for custody, or any other legal purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot accept Medicare, or Medicare based plans. The world is changing, and more and more people are reaching out. I am seeing more men that have been in abusive relationships. There are also more people dealing with loss. Coming to my office is not like going to a big mental health clinic where you just another number on a spreadsheet. In my care, you are a person, and you'll be treated like one.

Hello. I'm James and I appreciate that you are considering me to be your therapist. The decision to begin therapy for the first time or with a new treatment professional requires strength, courage and commitment. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, relationship issues, financial pressures, addiction or any other obstacle that prevents you from living the life that you want, finding the right therapist for you is an important part of getting yourself back to where you would like to be. I have experienced a variety of obstacles in my own life and personally understand how the therapeutic process can help change your life. This is my second career. While working in manufacturing at a pharmaceutical company, and being a full-time single-parent, I completed my education over a number of years and began working part-time in the field several years prior to my retirement from the pharmaceutical industry in 2012. I have worked with groups and individuals in a variety of settings. To me, this career is a calling for which my collective life experiences have prepared me. My Masters degrees are in Psychological Counseling, Addictions Counseling and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. I appreciate the uniqueness of each individual and have worked with people from a number of different cultures, religions and lifestyle orientations. In my own life, I strive for continual personal growth and to nurture my mind body and spirit. Should you decide to work with me, I will help you to appreciate your strengths and to build on the courage and commitment that brought you to seek changes in your life. My goal is to always help you find ways to be happy in your life and to do it in ways that work for you. If you're willing to do the work, your life WILL get better.

I work with men who think deeply, care a lot, and feel worn down by demands of modern life. You may be managing stress that shows up across multiple areas—career, relationships, identity, spirituality. You may even be unsure about change. Part of you wants things to be different, while another part feels unsure. This isn't a problem, but a starting point. We move at a pace that respects where you are and recognizes that progress doesn’t have to be dramatic to be therapeutic. You're taking that first step toward a life that feels not only manageable, but meaningful.

The journey to wholeness begins with one step. While at times the journey can be difficult, the freedom that can be found on the other side makes it all worth the effort. By choosing to find a therapist you have taken that first step. I hold a Ph.D. in Counseling from Loyola University in MD. I have been in practice for close to 20 years now. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, LGBTQ issues, substance use, as well as the general life stressors we all experience in this face-paced, demanding world we live in whether that be work or relationships. I offer individual therapy sessions and am willing to journey with you on your self-defined path to wholeness. I bring a client-centered approach and we will go at the speed you wish to journey.

"Welcome. I'm Jeanette DeSilva, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), with 16 years dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their journey to lasting freedom from issues such as substance abuse, poor coping skills, anxiety and depression. My approach is rooted in the belief that true healing addresses the whole person—mind, emotions, body, and spirit. In our work together, I integrate the evidence-based principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). The core idea of CBT is that our thoughts significantly influence our feelings and behaviors. Together we'll work collaboratively to identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to substance use, destructive behaviors and unhealthy coping. My goal is to equip you with practical, effective skills to manage triggers, develop healthier coping mechanisms, and navigate the challenges of recovery and struggles with depression, anxiety and destructive core beliefs. We will focus on: Identifying Triggers: Recognizing the people, places, and thoughts that prompt the urge to use. Developing Coping Skills: Learning practical strategies for refusing substances and managing difficult emotions effectively. Building a Supportive Life: Fostering healthy social support systems and making positive lifestyle changes that support sobriety, string mental health and overall well-being. You are not alone in this struggle. I offer a non-judgmental, empathetic space where we can work together to help you achieve lasting change and overcome emotional and/or addictive struggles and become healthy and whole. If you are ready to take the first step toward a healthier, more hopeful future, I invite you to connect with me for a consultation."

Let me introduce myself. My name is Bradley Peters. I am a transplanted Canadian, who has been living in Pennsylvania since 2001, just before 9/11. I have been a therapeutic specialist in the field for over 17 years. Reaching out to a professional can be daunting, but once you do, having that support and learning tools to help change those painful feelings becomes invaluable. My practice is small, isolated and private. I serve adolescents and adults 14 and up. Currently, I am only seeing clients through telehealth, but I am hoping this does not dissuade you. Telehealth may sound impersonal, but in reality, it can be a very convenient, safe and secure way to communicate issues, and I have yet to have any difficulties establishing strong relationships through this medium.

Frequently asked questions

Why filter by Pennsylvania rather than a city like Philadelphia?

When looking for online therapy, you can see anyone that is credentialed in Pennsylvania. We want you to find the best fit, therefore, Grow Therapy shows available therapists across Pennsylvania from Pittsburgh to Scranton! If you’d rather see someone in-person, you can change the filter from virtual and find a therapist near you in Pennsylvania.

Will my therapist take insurance?

When booking you’ll be asked to verify with your Member ID. However, if you don’t have any of the insurances available you can select cash. Our therapists will have their cost of appointment on their profile. Individual session costs will vary.

How does the Specialty Filter work? Can I find a therapist that focuses on Spirituality?

The specialty filter is optional. You don’t need to check any boxes to see a provider. However, fit is very important when selecting an online therapist. If you have knowledge or experience to recognize what specialties you may need. For example, your selected specialty, Spirituality, is filtering therapists in Pennsylvania that work with patients with similar concerns.

Why use Gender, Age, and Identities filters?

Finding a provider with a similar life experience can be beneficial because it can be easier to establish rapport and potentially be understood quicker and clearer.

What to expect during your first session?

Your first therapy session is for you and your therapist to meet each other and to ask any questions that you have about the counseling process. This is where you can expect your therapist to do the same as they will ask questions to gain insight into your specific situation. In this first session the therapist is doing their part to gather as much information so they can better assess if they are able to meet your therapeutic needs. Depending upon your provider's specialty, you may also discuss the methods the therapist will use. For additional information on therapy methods, please visit the Grow Therapy Help Center. Some people feel nervous before their first appointment, and that is totally normal! Coming prepared with a list of questions for your therapist may help. Remember, you're taking a brave step by seeking therapy, and it is okay to be nervous as you try something new.
