Let me introduce myself. My name is Bradley Peters. I am a transplanted Canadian, who has been living in Pennsylvania since 2001, just before 9/11. I have been a therapeutic specialist in the field for over 17 years. Reaching out to a professional can be daunting, but once you do, having that support and learning tools to help change those painful feelings becomes invaluable. My practice is small, isolated and private. I serve adolescents and adults 14 and up. Currently, I am only seeing clients through telehealth, but I am hoping this does not dissuade you. Telehealth may sound impersonal, but in reality, it can be a very convenient, safe and secure way to communicate issues, and I have yet to have any difficulties establishing strong relationships through this medium.
I our first session together, we will make brief introductions, and then discuss reasons for entering therapy and overall, just some questions about your expectations and what you hope to get out of this experience. It's always so important to find out if the connection between client and therapist is a good one, so this first session goes a long way to determine that.
My area of expertise involves working with those that struggle with anxiety, panic disorders, and depression. The world has become an unpredictable and sometimes scary place, particularly in the past few years. So many people suffer from intense feelings that directly impact all areas of their lives, including relationships, and their physical/emotional health. For those who suffer from panic attacks, you are not going "crazy". There are reasons behind these episodes, patterns of obsessive thinking that can be changed.
I am most interested in working with clients 14 yrs or older. I am not interested in drug or substance abuse clients, or intense trauma therapy. I also do not want to work with high crisis cases, suicide risks, etc. I primarily work with those struggling with anxiety disorders, panic disorders, depression, adjustment disorders.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has been well documented as the premiere model in helping clients first, understand why they think, feel and act the way that they do, and secondly, helps to teach them how to make the changes to effectively cope with those intense feelings.
Couples Counseling
I use the Gottman approach. The goals of Gottman Method Couples Therapy are to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

Brad has always listened and then focused me on how to improve. His step process has worked for me because it is a weekly goal to have to come back with a way to show how I am improving or how I need to continue to learn about myself
